Totally brilliant as well...

And I hate ballads.

I agree Red...and it's just a shame it only lasts for a couple of minutes.

True, put praps it'd be less great if it were anything more than what it is?
Regarding Little Girl...another great one.
The harp, harmonica, and humming at the end (another Jrny outro, different but great) conjure the best feeling of melancholy...in a good way

So true! The outro is subtle but it's one of the great melancholy Journey moments.
Red13JoePa wrote:Makes me feel like idly fondling cutlery looking like Glenn Close listening to Madamme Butterfly whist switching that lamp on and off in Fatal Attraction.
Yet makes me feel hopeful and triumphant enough to be able to sit through Abba's Dancing Queen with a big grin on my face.
All at once.
Such is the magic of the last 2 minutes of Little Girl.

Perry sets the girl up for the letdown, the Neal rips her heart out with one of his greatest solos. THAT tune is a work of art.

Matthew & Joe, neither one of u are gay for saying that. In fact, u both just became more MANLY in my eyes for admitting it. I LOVE Good Morning Girl.
Jeremey does a kick ass version of it too. Have u heard it?

That's true...In fact, we're so masculine because of that fact, that's it's near impossible to contain the manliness.

So u hear it for the very 1st time, u have NEVER heard of Journey before in ur life, & u rate every single song a 10? Come on. I find that REALLY hard to believe.
mystichealer wrote:Perfect 10. The best Journey release ever.
I am still after all these years left totally dumbstruck as to why ppl don't like this release. Sounds like Journey to me and i have followed the band for what seems like an eternity.
Now why dont we all rate errrr Generations??

Compared to what, Maverick? Who would you say was average and above average?
Seems strange to me how ANY record featuring Perry in his prime could be considered inferior to an average pop record....
And it's strange too that WCTNGF got a rating of 1 earlier on....whereas the same poster gave WYLAW a 10. Yes, I'm talking to you Frostbite.

Mathew,
Let's say this- Street Talk was a good pop record, and FTLOSM was a poor pop record. I would rate ROR in the category of FTLOSM. To me, both FTLOSM and ROR had a few very special songs and the rest was just "filler".
