In light of the continued NO OFFICIAL WORD from the band, makes one wonder if, after all the signals pointing towards JSS as the new lead singer, if IN FACT Augeri is still the lead singer.

You have to wonder.....until the OFFICIAL WORD is released.

Actually you don't...
Unless you want to always wander thru life aimlessly without ever thinking
for yourself or coming to rational conclusions on your own without it
being explained to you in terms a 5 yo would understand.

Does make you wonder though? They never redid the images with JSS over at Journeymusic, did they?

No. No official word yet so they're not going to change it yet. Besides...it's giving hope to "certain people".

Suppose that's true too. Interesitng that they've not got things sorted out if the general consensus is correct - there's been plenty of time for it over four months. Makes you think perhaps things aren't quite what they seem.

I think it's just a legal matter that's taking things so long.

This is the most sensible quote i have seen on this board for many a long day. Absolutely amazing the way only one person is still hammered on a daily basis.

I have 50$ saying this doesnt get through these peoples heads,

Perry's vocal delivery leaves little room for any singer to put a unique stamp on Journey's catalog.
His inflections are an inextricable part of what makes Journey Journey.
To his credit, Augeri tried when he could.
I'm sure Jeff also adds his own touches when the material permits it.

I think Augeri succeeded within the confines of his own voice. Shame he has to be crucified on here really. He just the singer in a band,

I'd largely agree. Especially on the new material.
"All the Way" is the only one with a obvious pained Cooke/Perry emulation going on.

I don't wonder, that beautiful smile & excitement in that vid of the interview JSS did in PR recently says it all! As does my sig.

Some BT'ers actually said they wouldn't donate anything because of SA not being mentioned??? Oh how mature.

Hey Melissa

The version of this ad from JSS's site includes guess who!?!?!?!?!?!?!

"Russa along with Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain from Journey with friends Jeff Scott Soto & Marco Mendoza, guitarist Ronnie Montrose and MartyCasey (Rock Star INXS) & Lovehammers"

:D

no no no girl!!!

Those who get to go are our friends - especially if they call us.

Marco is part of a jazz trio that plays regularly at this small Greek restaurant/jazz club in L.A. - they recorded a live cd there - it is awesome.

I am very fortunate and have 2 really great friends who several times - as soon as Marco steps on the little stage - they just call me and set the phone on the table.

Sure, why not? JSS nor SA for that matter hold a candle to Perry. People rag him mercilessly for getting older. His voice isn't as good. His face widened. Blah, blah, blah ... Cry me a river; their personal best doesn't equal him at his peek or in his decline. If JSS or SA were so hot to trot, they would have been stars years ago. No one outside of Journey circles even knows their name; however, everyone knows who Steve Perry is.

One thing I've noticed is that Jeff is rarely posting anymore? I guess I don't blame him with all the fuckin lunatics who throw a hissy fit when he has something to say..
As far as JSS posting, that could be several reasons...holidays, he's in the middle of a TOUR, he could be tired of trying to always defend himself, or he has gained so many fans between here, myspace, and probably numerous other web sites dedicated to him that he simply can't keep up anymore. I'm sure he reads it when he can, so lets all be respectable here towards him, Augeri, Perry, and Deano (he's really part of the band. LOL) Lets all get along. This site is like a pack of coyotes. You all run together well, get along, then POOF...one of you turns on the other and the rest of you follows along and eats the other one alive. JESUS. Be nice everyone!

There is a big difference between kneeling down and bending over, Tom Jrnyfn.

Perry knows that the answers he gives to our questions will be scrutinized and he has always answered with respect and consideration. His answers have been made the jest of jokes for many here and yet he is not daunted by them.

I admire everyone's dbl standard on just who qualify's for criticism. NOT!

What the hell does Perry have to do with my post? When he says something relevent I'll listen..I love the dude. So he's doing his annual Q&A ? Big deal

Although a big Augeri fan I'd agree with this post. No-one touches Steve Perry at his best. he could hit notes that no one else since could. I do fell Augeri got closer to Perry than JSS but that's largely irrelevant - if JSS gets the job then I'll still go to see JRNY with JSS however I hope to hell Augeri comes to the UK with JRNY so my kids can see him, last year they were too young. For me JSS is not JRNY but will still be taking kids even if it's JSS it'll still be jrny.

Yep, I agree HOTS. Obviously Augeri is the devil incarnate and deserves what he gets, right? Uh huh.

If Augeri was/is a full partner in Journey, why should he be willing to just be shown the door? So Augeri essentially held everyone hostage and said "We're doing it MY way...with TAPES!!! Got that Neal?!"

I was class of 92 girl!!!!!! How funny!! I was only there from I think Sept. to June, then graduated, my first 3 years of high school were in Japan, my dad was Air Force & stationed there. I hated my senior year. My dad tried hard to see if we could stay until I graduated over there, but they said NO, & sent us to Homestead! Sorry but i have to disagree here. SA known outside Journey circles? Absolutely no way. You talk as though Tall Stories were some huge band or something. Hey the album sold around 100 copies when it came out. It was deleted after a few months as no one bought the thing. Soto is more popular for sure in Europe that is. However, the UK is a different ballgame altogether. Ask mr or mrs Smith on the street if they know JSS and the answer will be no. Ask them if they know SA and the answer will be no. Ask them if they know Steve Perry and you will get a no. Ask them if they have ever heard of Journey, and you will find that once again the answer is a great big NO.
