For the last time...AUGERI WILL NOT EVER STEP FOOT ON A STAGE WITH JOURNEY AGAIN TO SING. GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULLS.

Here's a sincere question...if/when Journey is inducted in the RnRHOF, will SA be included in those ceremonies??? I know there are specific requirements that have to be met, but is the fact that he was with them late in their tenure a factor in whether or not he will be included? It seems to me that all he has really contributed is to allow Journey to continue to tour for the past 8 years, albeit on pre-Augeri material for the most part (I know they've recorded albums, but they haven't really been successful when compared to previous albums-it's not a dig, just an observation). This in and of itself would not be worthy of HOF recognition, IMO. Certainly if he were still a member of the band while they were being inducted, it would be a different story.

Somebody educate me here...

If they ever make it (and I hope thy do.. just too much politics and BS), it would be Perry, Schon, Valory, Smith, Cain (maybe Rolie) I would think.

If they didn't include Rolie, there SHOULD be a HUGE backlash. That would truly be the lamest addition that had ever made.

I agree GR should be. You just never know with the RNRHOF. Look at some of the acts that are there and the obvious ones that are not.

The HOF ain't gonna happen and
who really cares anyway???

But if they did, not having Rolie there (unless he turned down the invite) would be
a disgrace. He's a founding member, for God's sake.

thats what's dumb and the "what goes around comes around" comment.

If I wanted my favorite singer to come back and sing for my band, it would never be because I wanted a forum to implode!

That is no different then some of the words of people on this forum which basicaly say the same thing about BT when JSS is announced as the lead singer. That is probably where the wording in that quote came from in the first place.

In fact, in some ways I agree. It would be VERY interesting to see the reaction on THIS forum if Augeri came back to the band.

Dude...

You've been reading BT way too much. This bullshit that those fuckers spew about Augeri being in Journey as long is Perry is plain stupid. I'm the first to admit that I am no math genius. That said, I'm quite sure that Perry joined Journey in 1977 and departed Journey in 1997 or shortly thereafter. Even with my poor math skills, that is 20 years. I realize Journey dropped off the face of the earth for 10 years between 86 and 96 but Perry was still a member of the band.

Even if Augeri fans want to give the guy credit for allowing Journey to continue touring for 8 years, I'm okay with that. That said, that's all Augeri brought to Journey, was the ability to tour and continue to sing songs that Perry made famous. As much as I enjoyed Arrival, 95% of Journey fans don't even know it existed and certainly have no idea who Steve Augeri is.

If Journey were to be recognized by the Rock and Roll HOF, I think having Augeri recognized for the success that Journey had would be ridiculous. By the way, I feel the same way about Deen and Jeff. I have nothing against any of these guys. That said, why should they be included in something that they didn't play a role in? I think even the hardcore Augeri fans would have to admit that if Journey were ever to be recognized, it would be based upon the Perry era of the band. I'm willing to bet that even Jeff (the lead singer of Journey) would probably feel the same way. I know that if it were me, I would almost feel embarrassed and uncomfortable to be honored, for what amounts to a lifetime achievement award, for something I know I didn't have a hand in.

If it were not such a political thing then Augeri SHOULD be there. So should Deen. So should Aynsley.

But, it's not...and I doubt Perry would allow any other lead singer to be there with him...I doubt he would even want Rolie there. His attitude alone would keep Auger, and JSS, out...just to appease Perry.

Monker...

Enlighten me here. Why should Augeri be included in such a ceremony? Because he was in Journey, singing Perry's music for 8 years? I mean come on dude...Give me ONE legitimate reason! Listen, if Augeri joined Journey and recorded a CD that actually sold any copies, I'd agree. Aside from the tapegate episode, not one single significant event happened for Journey while Augeri was fronting the band, so I'm not sure why you believe he should have such an honor bestowed upon him! That's like saying Scott Mitchell from the Detroit Lions should be inducted into the Pro Football HOF alongside of Barry Sanders, because he was on the same team, afterall! Crazy logic, if you ask me!

SA would not be allowed the state of Ohio during the ceremony. No fuckin way he would be anywhere close. There would be no mention of him or his era.

I agree with you, John. Augeri shouldn't be included in the RORHOF. All he did was keep the band touring, but not one of the songs he did ever chart that I know of. The merit that Journey will get in, if they ever do, will be the Perry era, which Augeri and Deen had nothing to do with. I think it will be Perry, Schon, Cain, Valory, Smith, and maybe Rolie and Dunbar.... but I might be stretching at Dunbar........ :D

I get what you're saying. I wasn't counting the "THE HIATUS". lol

I understand and agree that if Journey gets in the Rock and Roll HOF, it will be because of the Perry stuff.

I can't argue one way or the other regarding which lineup was "more musically accomplished" or "the TRUE lineup" because i think that's all personal opinion. In other words, everybody's right. lol

But yeah, it's gonna be the lineup that was on mainstream America's radar that gets them in.

What? You can't argue who was more talented? Are you fucking retarded? Yeah dude, Augeri v Perry speaks Augeri in a landslide!
