Thank you for your recent note about this week's OFF THE RECORD with Joe Benson that will feature the music of Journey and Steve Perry, as well as Joe's brand new conversation with Steve and Steve's latest recording. In response to hundreds of inquiries, here are answers to the Top 5 questions.

#1: How do I hear the show?
JB: If there isn't an affiliate listed within your listening range (http://unclejoe.com/xotr.html), then check out a couple of stations that stream on the Internet -- but check it out before OFF THE RECORD airs! If you can't get one station to stream, go to another. But do it before the program is supposed to air!

#2: When will the show air?
JB: It's up to you to verify the time OFF THE RECORD will air on our affiliates. Unfortunately, most 21st century radio stations are very short-staffed, so don't count on a timely reply to your e-mail inquiry -- they just don't have the people to handle it. If you want to know the airtime for sure, call the station (check with directory assistance or look under "Contacts" on their website for the phone number).

#3: Can I get/buy a copy of the show?
JB: No, copies of OFF THE RECORD are not available legally. It is only produced for broadcast.

#4: Can you please give/ask/tell Steve....
JB: I have been dealing with artists on the air since 1968 and have been doing OFF THE RECORD since 1998. No matter what my personal relationships with individual artists entail, my professional relationship with each one does not include passing along personal messages/phone numbers/e-mail addresses/photos/items of clothing or food.

#5: What about the new song?
JB: Yes, we'll be playing Guff's (http://www.guffmusic.com/) brand new recording of "I Can't See It In Your Eyes," featuring vocal work and production from the former Journey singer. Yes, it's absolutely killer. I expect to post/e-mail information on the availability of downloading the song the first part of next week. Note: This is a very new recording and setting up downloads with iTunes, mySpace, etc is similar to license renewals with the Department Of Motor Vehicles - they get to it on their own schedule ;]

If I may paraphrase what Steve has so eloquently said many times, thank you for your support! I know you'll enjoy the show and the music!

This should be interesting to hear "I can or can't see it in your eyes" from this band, Guff. Did the entire band (Journey) have to agree or something to let their song go to another band?

It is a punk band...maybe they changed it? We'll find out Sunday to be sure.

Depends on the writing credits of the song, I'd think.

I wondered that too, it must be writing credits or else he got the song in the divorce settlement. More interesting to me is that unaired show on eBay. It had to be one of the affiliates it was distributed to, or an employee of such.

Band's cover songs all the time, you don't always have to get permission to cover a song, the writers get credit and payment, no matter who covers it.

Yep, the band that wants to record it pays a licensing fee and that's normally it.
