Uh dude, this is my train..it's like, you know, kind of real
Big difference at 79 MPH versus 15 mph! Notice the dust from the fuckin ballast!

Some pretty good, outstanding music..Temptations, Elton (when he didn't suck every dick in sight) John, The Beatles, Elvis, Stevie Wonder, The 4 Tops, Carly Simon (don't tell me you don't get off on "You're so Vain), either......
Anyway, the commercials...every half hour, I hear this promotion for the musical, Wicked, and I have to say, it has piqued my interest...
I am so into this. Lula is taking me. I get to see her dressed up, in a black dress, heels, the works.....and get to see a real performer, something (aside from Jeff), that I haven't seen in Journey the last few years anyway.
Anyone else feel like going a little worldly, global, more mature, gay?
Check this out and tell me you don't kind of like it?

fredinator wrote:No, I worked for the Safety Department Director... His name was/is Joe Bonelli... I've often thought about him and wondered if he was still alive... Also worked with a guy named John Skinner--do you know them, by any chance? Are you an engineer, Deano?
fredinator wrote:Yeah, I remember vividly that was one thing I took away from that job--NEVER try and beat a train across the railroad tracks... We used to get all those reports from the NTSB... Pretty awful... I don't know how you can stand it, really... Some of the engineers couldn't take it... But, it's a good living and you get to be outside and travel around, right? I hope they call you back soon!! What about freight? Not your bag?

Yes he was a a matter of fact he worked on the rr for 38 yrs. he is gone now. Husband has been with Norfolk and Southern as Engineer for 33 yrs now.fredinator wrote:Journeywoman: Just curious, but I used to work for Amtrak in D.C. 1980-81... Was your Dad an engineer then? But Deano have you ever hit a herd of cattle on the tracks? Well my husband did,Beef guts all the way through half of Va.!Although the cattle was on RR property, N&S still compensated the farmer. And there was another time a few yrs. ago he was backing the train up although it was a mile long, when the conductor told him to come on back they did not know there where guys partying along the tracks and were high and one tried to climb between the train and well he got his leg cut off. And yes although they were trespassing on private property N&S compensated the ole guy. Have other stories probaly like yours but that's another day.And they are begging for Engineers in this part of the country.Rockin'Deano wrote:Shitloads of positions available everywhere.
I have seen it all, trust me. I have seen trucks split in two, school buses hit, stationwagons full of beaners struck, drunk drivers driving down the fucking rr tracks in front of us, pedestrian fatalities and o yeah, cement trucks too. Everything.
