Genius, it is NOT a new song. Been out from Journey since 83. And NO, you cannot definitely hear perry. He is so mixed in and is no way clear or loud.

I'm well aware that is not a brand new song , but the song is sung much differently, I like it, that's what matters! :)

The reason YOU are having trouble hearing Perry's voice is because you stuck your head back in that toilet again, Deano!

Hey Shania...thanx so much for this!!

Most Excellent, Steve!

Not only does he do BG Vox, but also "echoes" some words:

Oh you (oh you)
Never hear
A single word I say...

No you (no you)
Turn away (turn away)
Why do you disappear?

I (I)
Had enough (I've had enough)
You need to get a life (You need to get a life)

Then, after the Guitar solo:

You saa-aa-ee-yay

You say you got another lover, now (another lover, now)
Who do you think you're foolin' now?

Tell me

Then, at the very end:

I can see it in your EYYYEESS!!!

Wow, I thought it was from the Trial By Fire era. So I guess they recycled it like "In Self-Defense"?

This must be where UJB heard Perry in the studio some months back and said that Steve sounded like the ROR days. At any rate it isn't too bad or lippin.

It is from the Trial By Fire album. This was the bonus track for the Japan release.

This is the original track from 1996: http://download.yousendit.com/009B95A03FD9CF57

Basically what Guff and SP did was to speed it up a little, add a punk-ish vibe to it and play a bit with the vocal arrangements. They sure did a great job. :)

I really like what I am hearing, and not necessarily because of SP's vocal presence, although, like I said, his touch is obvious.
He tried to keep the original Journey sound of the song too, which is cool.

Just listened to the Journey version for the first time in a while. Still find the chorus to be weak, but Neal is a goddam house aflame on this track.

Good SP vox.....

At least he finally did right by Trial By Fire and put this song back on the record now where it blonged to begin w/.

Damn Japanese record companies.

Thanks for the audio.

Typical modern rock/punk....these bands manage to remove the melody from everything, even a melodic rocker from Journey!

Steve sounded cool with his gravel laced bacing vocals. Nice effect...

LOL, you are going f***ing deaf if you can't hear the difference between the Guff singer and Perry. Thanks for posting that Shania, going to be listening in a couple hours. :D
