"When do you start auditioning for band members?"

Postby journeyinto2001 » Mon Dec 11, 2006 1:02 pm

Joe Bensen asked Perry this and he said, "Soon." and then sort of chuckled.

My thought is, as much as I would love to hear THE VOICE again, I will believe it when I see it.

Do you believe that he is serious about it OR will it be the same ole, same ole and nothing happens?

He didn't sound serious at all.

But on a more serious note - your comments about this forum and your dislike for it (posted elsewhere) leaves me to ponder why you are posting here at all as if nothing is wrong and you are a happy user of this forum?

Please explain.

To me, it sounded like he was trying to "sound serious", but ended up laughing.

What was that thing all about when he said something like,

"I have it in me, but I need others there...it's really THEIR voice", or something....?

...need to hear that again - I was like, "HAH?" :?

Classicrocklady, keep your ears peeled....it's said near the end of the show.

I rarely post here nowadays. The poster that was nice enough to post the link to listen to the Perry interview allowed me to listen (thank you) and thus the post. I stand behind my comments about this forum Andrew. If you would choose to be completely honest with yourself, you would admit that while BT is probably too controlled, your forum has suffered from a lack of control on the moderators part and there was a lot of truth in my post.

98% of people here are Augeri haters? Yeah, a lot of truth in that...

Make a choice - if you wish to continue to post here - then I do not expect to read any complaints about this site elsewhere. Have the balls to post those comments here.

And BTW - I am the moderator, so what's your issues?

Get that fucker!!!

Too chicken shit to say what he said about Dean and myself in an open environment.

You Rich are quite the hypocrite.

Yea, I listen to the interview again. He says something like when he is standing in front of people ,WE (fans) BRING IT OUT OF HIM, so what I got out of that is that we fans NEED to REACH OUT & TOUCH Perry's heart , so we can bring out those feelings inside of him that make him want to sing for us??

He kinda sounded like he was, I don't know, embarrassed (not really the best word, but was uncomfortable with UJB flattering him... :? ). It was kinda a nervous laugh, not just laughing his comments off, IMO. I think when he said "soon" he meant it. That was at least one of the most concrete things he's said in a while. Not "I'm thinking about doing it soon", but "soon". I'm encouraged. Maybe some of you will think I'm delusional, but I'm still encouraged.

He's talking about the inspiration that a live audience gave him.....his connecting with the people that would inspire him to reach deeper and pull things out of himself.....a different level then he achieved in the studio...(in his opinion) because then he's just sitting with some headphones on and that same inspiration and connection is not there. Just my take.
Maybe thats part of the reason he hasn't done anything. He's kept to himself too much. Needs to get back out and connect with people and find some inspiration. What I don't understand is that he's got to know there are plenty of people ready and willing to be there and serve to inspire. Says he misses it and feels like doing it again. Come on Steve!! Whats it gonna take to push you to it?? :? Get on your dang computer and read some boards!! The inspiration is out there with the people! Aren't you listening??

I think he is saying the voice of his heart
comes out in front of the audience
apart from the studio
there is that illusive energy of a live audience
that charges him
I think he's heard it listening to himself in the remasters.
Something that is just of the moment
but nonetheless lives in the heart...

Mac,

I think you're right but I'm not one of them. Is seen Stevie A. in Louisville in 1998 during one of Journey's first post Perry shows (maybe the first?). Stevie A. wasn't confident but who who would be. He did a great job and kicked ass hitting all the "required" notes. I seen Journey with Stevie A. 7 times since. I've heard all of the tape gate deal and there is no arguing that. But, at one time, Augeri kicked ass as the Journey singer and could cover the old material well. He may have struggled of late due to the singing issue of the moment, but Steve A. was a part of Journey and did a good job of filling unfillable shoes for quite some time.

I've heard many boots of JSS and seen Journey live in Indy this year. The bottom line, Stevie A. kicked ass as as compared to the JSS fronted Journey that I've heard. To give credit where credit is due, JSS sounded great in Hollywood as I heard on that boot. Time will tell if JSS can carry Journey forward.

L8r Mac and keep up the good work on the site.

Aaron

His Mom is still with him
leading him in the spiritual realm
He's gravitated away from the lights & screaming crowd
in search of peace within his heart.
His Mom is still very much alive
