No, I actually DON"T know when the Official Statement
and Drew's story will be released.
But I DO firmly believe, and I say firmly, that
'other things' have been settled...
Now we wait for closure in the guise
of a nice, "We love Puppies and Sunshine" Official Statement
and Drew's story...

I had a sinking suspision that Jeff was gonna stop posting about 3 weeks ago after a PM
I got from him...
I'm sure I'm not the only one here he reached out to (I'm not claiming to be bvetter than anyone else).
Just the tone and some of the things he said...
I think he knows himself that now is a good time to step back from the fans
and let all the legal stuff work itself out.
But I have faith that he'll be back again

I thought JSS would continue to post until he became an official member and then stop...I hope that doesn't happen but all the members, so far, have eventually stopped posting.

Do you have any idea who decides what the official statement will contain and when it is released?

I hope that doesn't happen either. One other possibility is the band likes him interacting, because the fans like him, and they don't have to bother with it. Jeff can get all the inside scoop on what is going on. I think he knew he was the new lead singer when he was here before, at least part of it. Just my opinion of course.

Again, just waiting on a fluff-filled statement...
But I think Jeff will eventually be back, at least in a limited capacity.
For someone that is so adamant about staying connected with his fans,
I would hope that he would remain that way even though he is now
in the Big Leagues

The timescale is one thing that really would be interesting to find out about. My guess is that he probably did know it was permanent before he even joined them on tour... maybe not, but I think he at least had a fair idea even if Steve didn't.

I've said this from the start that I also think the whole "temporary replacement" thing was partly used as a way to stop some people getting upset... okay they got upset anyway, but I think in some ways it was like when you tell a kid their friend's "Going away for a wee while" then when they've got used to that you tell them they're not coming back. The guys are not stupid, whatever they've done it's been for a reason.

I think that probably has more to do with the abuse they get on these forums. It's a sad fact that you can't please everybody all the time and, let's face it, you'd probably lose the will to keep posting if every word you wrote got scrutinised, criticised and twisted into meanings you didn't intend all the time. Fortunately, Jeff is very internet savvy and can give as good as he gets - and unlike the other band members he's had the time to get used to forum politics and peculiarities long before his profile got raised to the level it is now. Therefore I think he'll continue to post here at least occasionally.

This is true, but Neal didn't take any shit, and quit posting after making a (justified)statement that was much less un-diplomatic than a few (justified) Jeff has made here, granted Neal's were on BT instead of here.

Well there was the hint on the front page on Friday, the on Sunday he said it would be "VERY soon". Now that *does* indicate he has been told something...

As for Jeff disappearing, I wouldn't read into that too much. The guy's been on tour for 4 or 5 months, he's bound to be knackered. Plus I think he was in England this week doin some gigs.

That's true. Since the end of the Journey shows he's been on a whirlwind mini-tour with the SAS Band which finished very late on Saturday night. He looked absolutely shattered then and he had a early morning flight back. I'm not at all surprised he hasn't had much time to check out these boards.

And with an impending statement 'soon' I'm sure he'd rather not have to evade the inevitable questions he'd get anyway.

First of all, I absolutely adore the sayings you guys have. Knackered is another one! Yes, the hints he gave are why I ask if the announcement date has been set. It would seem he HAS to know something. As for Jeff, I agree. It is either that or the band has asked him to stay quiet for a little bit so he doesn't accidentally say something that could hold the process up or be used against them. It will be interesting to see how quick he comes back after the announcement.
