Would love to get a hold of it without the added expense of having to find a region-free DVD player to play it on.

Some musical highlights for me are La Raza del Sol and Filmore Boogie. The band does not have the energy on stage of the 80s (no one runs around or anything like that), but it is still an entertaining concert in my opinion. Neal and Deen really shine in this DVD.
Definately worth having in my opinion.

Big difference. The 81 DVD was "fine tuned" to compensate for the lack of technology back then. The 2001 DVD was manipulated WITH today's technology to make up for a sub-standard singer. Huge difference.

True.
I'd rather a 100% live performance. That's why I like bootlegs (soundboard quality when available...)

You fail to comprehend that Perry's voice wouldn't have gone the distance also by that time.
What would you rather have had? No fucking Journey at all after TBF? Exactly, I thought not.
