OT: One body found on Mount Hood.

Postby Clasicrockldy » Mon Dec 18, 2006 10:06 am

I don't know if any of you have been following the news on those three mountain climbers on Mount Hood, but just now on CNN, which I have been listening too all day, have found a body on Mount Hood. Authorities have not identified the body yet. They still have to transport the body off the mountain.

The search will go on for the others.

It is sad to hear this news. :(

why are people still climbing snow covered mountains???,, it is sad that tragedy will come of all this,, but folks go up , then others have to risk their lives to go get them.. there are many ways i will never die,, on top of a snow covered mt that i was trying to climb , on top of a bull, in the ocean by a shark, exporing the inner workings of a volcano,, exploring abandoned caves,, by jumping from an airplane with a parachute, ok the last one might be kinda fun.. im not adventurous at all,, im the type that falls in the shower and has 4 disks broken..

You made me LOL with that one Larry! Hope your fave album is not Slippery When Wet.

You know,I'd rather die doing something fun or out of the ordinary, then dying in a bed killed by an illness or having a heart attack while watching TV.

Those guys on Mt.Hood were doing what they loved most,I'm sure of that...Too sad they lost their lives, tho.

I agree with you, Shania! I like adventure......I've done bungee jumping a couple of times....snorkled with sharks around....sky dived....rock climbing......hot air balloons...fly a plane without training or a license ( haha! was a boyfriends plane....ran out of gas just as I was coming for the turn to land on a grass strip...had to glide it in!) I'd rather take my chances and go out with a bang instead of a whimper! No regrets of "why didn't I do that when I could"! Life is an adventure...live it while you can!
Hope they find the other climbers.

I figured that I was him yesterday when they said that he had called his wife from that location on his cell phone and said that the others had gone ahead of him.
Sad, sad tradgedy- my thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

Yeah, I have it. There are a few songs I like on it. The singers voice sucks but I like hearing Gary's guitar. Tragedy, Outlaws, Murder by Suicide, and If the Night Don't Get'cha, I like. The rest I usually skip over, because of the guys voice.

Yeah, me too. I only got to see them once w/ Gary. That was the Wheels tour. I've seen them probably 5 or 6 times since. I don't really care for Amato. I like not only Gary's playing but his writing. From Golden Country to Take it on the Run. That boy could write.

I don't like Richrath's "Holly Would". But April Wine's "Holly Would" is great. Ever heard it?

Last I saw of him was on REO's Behind the Music. He did seem like he was in bad shape. Did you see one after that?

iF U C K is a pretty good song. Holly would is off of "Forever For Now" which was released 30 years ago. Wow, it's sounds better to just say it was released in '76

We're looking for Speedwagon's missing guitarist  Deano's fault (as usual) for trying to rip off Kevin Cronin
