Please Read

I thought it was a simple request. Turns out that isn’t so.

Perhaps if I re-stated it one last time, perhaps then the users of this board will respect my wishes as owner and moderator of this board.

This board was opened and designed for all to have their say. This year has been a difficult year for all fans of Journey and many have not been able to contain their emotions – sadly allowing them to spill out onto this forum.

That in turn brings unmeasured stress upon myself as the owner and ultimately the one responsible for this board’s contents.
I have tried to allow free speech and general conversation to flow as much as possible without interference – or a least minimal interference.

The Journey fanbase has always been one divided by opinions and loyalties, but I simply DO NOT understand why users can’t accept my requests for a couple of minor rules.

There are other boards that have more stringent posting guides, but here, I’m happy to let you all dictate where the forum goes.
However, I have always asked three things:

1) That there is no personal abuse.

2) There is no abuse of the backtalk forum or the users there.

3) There are no posts or text or pictures that are likely to offend the majority (keeping it in mind that many families and younger readers do browse these forums).

If those few requests are respected, then there really should not be any problems here – yet there still is.

So I ask – ONE MORE TIME.

Post away, but respect these 3 guidelines. 3 simple requests – that’s it. Am I wrong to make such a simple request?

I’m hoping that the pending announcement will allow fans to settle down and move on…

Not too much to ask at all. I too hope the formality of the 'official' statement will allow us to get back to the music and share in the excitement of the future recordings....

Andrew, I'm sorry u have to go thru so much (& I've been guilty of some of it, I know). I think ur rules are fair & I will do my best to abide by them.

Could I confirm one thing? U said "no posts or text or pictures that are likely to offend the majority". Do u mean by that we need to also clean up our language & no longer use cuss words? I just wanted to check as I have been guilty of that too.

We have always been allowed to cuss. That is not the problem. It's only when the cussing is embedded in personal attacks or threats that it does indeed become a problem.

No no...I'm guilty of that too sometimes. I love a good cuss.

I'm not looking for a church choir in here, nor a change towards just another type of message board. Just a little restraint at times.

Andrew, you have the most thankless job in the world...and you do it so well...hopefully next year will be easier for you...seems some of the troublesome posters have really toned down their posts and lets hope it stays that way....Being the elder here, I will try to set a good example and will try not to mention BT unless they come here looking for trouble and then I will defend our family...but its sounds like both forums want some kind of peace treaty and I will adhere to the rules....Granny (Carol)
