Can someone give me some background on the specifics of Tapegate. I have just joined the forum and tried to find the exacts and would like to know what was alleged. Anyway, later

I have looked through a lot of the forum but did not find a thread that talked about it directly. Just posts that stated it happened. No specifics

Rick's right. It'd be around June. You won't be able to get any of the samples that were posted (mp3 bootlegs)....but some heated discussions are still available to read.

I am no expert. Can some people correct me if I am wrong.

Augerri's voice began to falter (I don't know when, possibly pre Generations) Instead of Schon and Co. postponing tours etc (you know, wait for their bandmate to heal) Augerri began to mime (or use tapes to assist). ALL of the band knew what was happening. When it was obvious Augerri's voice would not recover (on the eve of a big...sorry, LUCRATIVE tour) the band decided to replace him. Now, a lot of people on this forum slate Augerri for being false (even though Schon etc. knew what was going on, slaves to the Dollar).

Oh, I forgot to mention, one member of this forum takes the credit for highlighting the use of tapes.....and....if you criticise the band now....he personally insults you on this forum and issues threats ......when he is drunk. (It might be different now, I don't know)

Again, I am no expert....please correct me if I am wrong.

P.S........All of the Augerri haters hate somebody called ....Monker (his avatar is the predator)

I do not believe everthing I read on this forum.....I do not believe everyone here hates Monker and I don't care who sings lead for Journey any more.

If you want to search the archives.....go back to approximately the June threads....you will be able to find all kinds of posts: fore, against, who cares, pre, post and everything in between and outside of the box.
