Seconded....I never got the wiggle jokes, and I at least USED to sift through the leather pants noise on backtalk in search of music talk so I am familiar with why the pants thing is lampooned. Haven't seen the same ranting and raving about wiggling, even though I am a wigglehead.

Someone posted an animated GIF with the wiggle not too long ago. Anyone remember?

I recall one time, he did a Perry-like dance, which I thought was odd...

Oh no. Not even close to a Perry dance. Not even in the same ballpark. Augeri wiggled. Trust me. He turned his back & wiggled his feet & his ass in a very fem fashion. I hope I can forget it some day.

Here u go Fred. U can kinda see the "wiggle" during Neal's solo at about 4 mins in.

But is it something backtalk fans used to actually talk about and refer to by name? Like the red pants stuff?

LOL

I think they referred to it on BT as "driving the bus".

When I used to frequent BT I'd sift through the leather pants threads and think, "Can we talk about the MUSIC now please?"

I kinda wish people would not be so teeny-bopperish when it comes to bands/musicians, but it's all cool. Whatever makes you happy I guess.

As for myself, my opinion was always wait until the band says it and you can take that to the bank. Although I supported Steve and always will, the band is a business and business decisions are made all the time. Changing to Jeff is a business decision and as I've always supported the band and it's decisions, I support this one also.

Sorry to disagree, but your "major egg in face coming for many here" is speculation just the same as the speculation you decry - and it's a really arrogant and condescending statement as well. How was you egg served ~ scrambled, raw, sunny-side up?? It's one thing to wait for an official statement, but quite another to thwack people who express their opinions and then get huffy and dramatic when they call you on it. JMO

I personally looked at it as a code for the woman at BT to fantasize about getting in Steve Augeri's pants. i hate to be the bringer of bad news to you guys but the same thing is happening here with Jeff--almost just as obvious they havent termed it the wiggle but give it a little time and it will have a name of its own

Your first point, That is strange and disturbing on at least a few levels, and your theory makes sense.
And you are absolutely correct on the second count. The hipocrisy of it all. :D

Yulog, I'll have to disagree w/u. Sure us gals think Jeff is hot. Who wouldn't? Most men can see he's a goodlooking guy. We talk about his hair, his bod, his stomach, his shoulders, but I can guarantee u we will NEVER talk about his wiggle because he will NEVER wiggle. Wiggling is a feminine thing. Girls wiggle when they walk down the street & some hot studs are around. No man should EVER EVER EVER wiggle. That's the point.

BTW, that pic is a front wiggle. The back wiggle was the worst one. Gag gag gag.

I didnt mean that you will use the term "wiggle" but that the female population here will have their own interpretation of Jeff---and there is no doubt about it ,it's already happening(maybe not on the grand scale as it did at BT)-------and human sexuality is a big part of it.Image

If I may coin a reardonism here, you have a violent online temper.
Dean had that lyric Swallow That Load in there but somebody, maybe it was you, briefly had I'll Swallow That Load in their own.

Even if it wasn't you, does that not illustrate Log's point that it is happening here with you, and some of the womenfolk here with JSS as the object of the affection?

Women always admire a goodlooking man. Just like men admire a goodlooking woman. That is as natural as the birds & bees. The difference w/us girls admiring Jeff's looks is that we also talk about the music. Read most of my posts today. I've been educating people a little about music. The females elsewhere who went on & on about the "wiggle" & the "red leathers" did just that. Augeri could do NO wrong. He was their idol.

Trust me, if Journey duets w/a hot female, all the boys here will talk about her "wiggle" or "jiggle" as the case may be.

Wrong again. It was never me & I don't remember seeing it in ANY of the girls' sigs either. "Violent online temper" ha ha ha. Not even close. When u insult me, I fight back. That isn't a violent online temper. It's just me defending myself. I'm not some silly little girl u can intimidate. But I have a great sense of humor.

Now crawl back into the hole u came out of today.

JR dont personalize it so much (i agree you talk about the music) my statement wasn't made at you specifically but there are plenty of others here that are showing the same type of code for jeff as BTers for Steve------and within the first year of Steve A joining journey---BT wasn't the wiggler forum--it took many years before that happened

Not sure how you ever missed the "wiggle" threads on BT, 13. Hell, there was one thread all about Augeri's wiggle that had to have been 50 pages long! That was the final straw for me! For the record, it was the same five, 40 year old women, who were in heat, posting in this entire thread!

Know what? Don't even type anything more up until you can do it without seeming so pathetic.

Gotta be humiliating, what with leading MR.com in cliches like "bring it on" and "pots and kettles" and stuff. Stop letting the violent online personality get the best of you, step away and drum up a real crusher before you type.

Lots of things here that I want to respond to, but I don't want to take the time to quote them all.

I think Rich is just trying to cloak his jabs in what he thinks will pass as a conciliatory post. How'd that work for ya Rich?

The difference between what some of us (the women of MR) do on here and what happens at BT is as different as MR is from BT. Yeah, we get raunchy sometimes, but we don't get teeny bopper girlish. When we raunchy over Jeff, Steve P, or both, we usually do it in a single thread devoted to that subject and it will be just one among many other threads on different subjects in which we're contributing serious comments and opinions. It's no different than the guys devoting a thread to Angelina Jolie or some other hoochie. :P

Someone did have Swallow That Load in their sig but it wasn't JRox. I don't really remember who it was. Several here, male and female, have at times had a raunchy comment to make about that song and some funny exchanges about it.

Oh, I remember that. He did that when my wife and I first saw them in Sac after they reformed. Fem fashion? I didn't think it was that bad at all, especially compared to someone like Mickey Thomas jumping around the stage, which was REALLY weird. Reminded me of an orangutan - really, really weird. Even the reviewer in the newspaper noted it the next day!

The Perry-like dance he did (at Konocti Harbor) was - in my opinion - a direct attempted imitation of the "dance" that Perry used to do when he would turn and face the drums when he wasn't singing. Augeri did it for maybe 3 to 5 seconds and I only saw him do it that one time.

Speaking for myself, there were a TON of threads I never even entered at BT and many I totally skip over here as well. I've seen the mentions of the wiggle, but just didn't know what it was. I do now, and it's obvious that I missed nothing by not going into those threads.

I know. I've heard nothing but great things about JSS and the energy of the band. I've enjoyed JSS' other projects for many years and would've done anything to finally get the chance to see him Live and onstage. Unfortunately, personal commitments stopped me from seeing the band this year. Won't happen in '08, though.

BTW, great interviews, as always. Well worth the wait.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, Andrew.
