Next Live Album

Postby knox » Sat Dec 23, 2006 6:14 am

As I posted on Back Talk:

After the 2008 album, I say Journey puts out a second live album including:
Remember Me
Higher Place
Faith In The Heartland
Kiss Me Softly
Signs Of Life
(Others I can't think of because I don't know the Augeri era very well)

And then a bunch of stuff off the new album.

This way, they only have to deal with Augeri in releasing the songs, which I hope won't be as tough as dealing with Perry.

If it is, then we are going to be a long time without another Live album - unless they work like the good old days and release and album about every year...

I vote for that!

Oh, and do like the Houston DVD - have Video AND Audio...

It would be my guess that the band only wants to haggle with Augeri if they absolutely have to.
The songs u listed are great, but obscure.
The band would prolly rather release a DVD with the emphasis on new JSS-penned stuff.
If the past months have been any indication, they are going to keep distancing themselves from the Augeri-era.

I thought a better idea would be either release a dual dvd/cd bonus with DL of this years tour... sell like hot cakes and introduce JSS to the world!! Or release another DVD/CD bonus of the european tour next fall!!

I think one of the Def/Journey shows should air on VH1 classics (that is, if any were professionally recorded).
I'm suprised this was never done during the Main Event tour.

I wouldn't want to have to haggle with Augeri OR Perry. I just want something live with Soto/Journey.

Any new stuff is going to be obscure. If they release ANYTHING live, I am afraid there will be hoops to jump through until they have 3 albums with the current lineup and push the concerts as ONLY having this material.

With a newly energized band and management team, the odds remain slim, but certainly better than before.
The push behind the next album is make or break.
Same as it was with "Arrival".

I would think they could slip a low profile concert DVD under the radar in 2008 about 6 months after release of the new record, featuring mostly new songs. Haggle with Perry to keep DSB and Faithfully on there, but highlight maybe 6 new songs in a 16 track DVD. I'm sure it would make back it's cost.
