Marvellous post by Jeff, it seems a little strange people can decide he hasn't got the Journey sound before a record has been made. My my, how some heads will turn when they hear what he can do with Journey's signature sound!

My thoughts exactly!!! Jeff was singing Journey before he was even in Journey. I know this has been said, but the Journey "sound" has changed many times. The albums pre-SP, don't sound like the ones with him.... The albums with SP have a different feel to them.... The albums with SA have their own sound, too. It's all Journey! I, for one, am grateful that this crazy, wild, wonderful Journey we love will continue!

No pressure guys, but any release dates yet? LOL! Just kidding - it's early. :D

I find it somewhat interesting that I had a thread locked and deleted for saying "Generations" was the worse piece of Journey work I had ever listened to over there, and now fans are allowed to rip Soto to shreds and talk about how much all the guys in Journey suck for letting their wiggler go. I thought with Augeri out of Journey that the Augeri love-fest would finally be over...I guess not! Hopefully in time, all of Augeri's fans will disappear to "AugeriLand" or wherever his home is on the net and leave Journey fans alone!

It'll be explained that all the fans have such high emotions now that they need a little room to vent and that it'll all settle down before long.

No worries, Jeff seems the type of guy that will always post and always have something to say. Some of his posts - in my opinion - should have been relegated to PMs, but I can see why he chose to not go that route.

Boy did you hit that nail on the head. She is pretty intelligent, so I'm not understanding how she can dismiss the tape gate evidence -- unless, of course, she hasn't looked at that either.

This is no different than when SA joined the band. I'm not sure why these folks are expected to go through the entire "grieving" process in a day. That's ridiculous. There's been a lot more information over here than there has been at BT and people have had a much longer time to work through things here. For those who live in that "glass bubble" called BT, many were hanging onto the hope that SA would return and now he's out. That, for them, breeds anger and mistrust and they should be given a chance to let it out and get over it.

I think Jeff could have handled it a bit differently, or not responded at all, because in some ways, he stoked the fire, which is likely why he "bailed" on the conversation because he knew it wasn't going anywhere.

People need time. It's as simple as that...or maybe we can start more threads over here that you said you weren't going to tolerate, Andrew?

They should put up a general information site and let places like MR take the fans, and their "discussions".

I certainly wouldn't blame them for closing it down.

I have said that for a VERY long time.

Considering how this has gone down...I almost EXPECT it to happen. BT has been for AUGERI era fans for so long that I doubt it will EVER transition into a JSS friendly forum. So, what purpose can BT possibly serve Journey NOW? It's more of a liability then it ever was.

Well Monker,

Maybe they do need to close down that forum. But just realize, Augeri fans really have no where to go if it does close. steveaugeri.com isn't even up and running yet ! :D

Well, that's not my problem. That's Andrew's...cuz you know they'll come here.

Somehow I don't see that being a pretty scene.

It got moved to the BACK TALK forum from the General Forum. Check there.

That "witch" claims she has ONE boot & several Journey albums so she's qualified as a fan. What is so hypocritical about that is she hasn't heard an album w/Jeff yet. Until she does, she has nothing to talk about.

BTW, Merry Christmas nolippin. Good to see u back here. It's been a while :-)

I think that thread must've been deleted on BT by now or maybe moved to the forum within the forum called Back Talk. And, Steveaugeri.com has an email address. Who's gonna ask?

But, yes I can see why band members DON'T want to read let alone post on their own forum! I wouldn't either. I sure don't think it is fair for them (the band) to be condemned for being human or making decisions that don't involve consulting the fans first. They (the SA fans over there) argue about ethics but, come on, do they honestly believe that SA is the innocent lamb sent to the slaughter...where's HIS backbone to defend himself if he is blameless & they forced him to do the lipping? I admire Deen C. for standing up for himself and for JSS for doing the same because this tells me a lot more about their character than what SA is doing (I don't think in this particular case that staying mum is the same as "having class"). I just wonder why the SA fans aren't angry at SA for not saying anything...why couldn't he at least type "thanks for all your well wishes on my health"...makes me wonder.

Anyway, I'm gonna be toast now!

Oh I can answer that. His personal business is his personal business. He does not need to reveal that to his fans. Any true fan of his would understand that. He is a class act & a wonderful humble human being. The best there ever was. He doesn't need to say anything. His fans don't need a message. They know he is grateful. They know him really well & know his character. They met him 3 times at M&Gs. He is spending well deserved time w/his family...

That's the gist anyway

Silverblue, I argued this same points about Augeri's silence over there for some time. The responses I got said that he shouldn't have to. He has too much class. He is humble, yadda, yadda, yadda. Anything that smacked of SA doing something wrong was pooh-poohed by them. They want to blame everything on Neal, Jon, etc. They are supposed to be the bad guys. And SA the good guy.

You won't be toast for this, trust me. :D

Here's a small, over-looked point I just brought up in
a new thread I started over there...

"The general public has never heard of TapeGate or Dean. The general public doesn't really know alot about Jeff. The general public will not read Drew's interviews. And the general public could care less if the band's decision to replace Mr Augeri was an act of disloyality or showed a lack of integrity on their part.

But why does all this supposed 'lack of integrity' or 'disloyalty' surprise you?
It was this same mindset and decision-making that resulted in Mr Augeri becoming a member of this band. This is post-TBF all over again. Back then they made very unpopular decision and look what happened? The band continued, many new fansd came on board and we got to see Journey for 8 more years.

I know there are a few of you that will argue that you became fans because of Mr Augeri. But hey, us Perry fans (most of us) moved on and supported the Augeri era. Why are so many of so against moving on and supporting this new era? Because the band was disloyal to a freind? But that disloyalty was just fine when your Mr Augeri got the gig in '98, right?"

Some people will never get it...
