I just can't understand what the big deal is about Andrew getting a few people he trusts to help him out with his interviews? Image I guess some people will find just about anything to pick apart. Obviously Andrew was right in his choices, cuz they kept it quiet and no one (noone....for Jgal  ) knew they helped him out.

I guess they either don't recognize or don't care about real integrity Deb. They just want to worship at the throne of the Wiggle God regardless of what happens to Journey. I've tried really hard not to get nasty about this, but I'm completely out of patience.

I've thought about it for a bit today, and I think I just want to put all this behind me and start looking towards the future as far as Journey goes.

BT is what it is (hopefully to be soon was). Don't let it bother any of you. Journey will be fine. Andrew is fine. Shine on those whom you disagree with over there and everybody will be fine.

Ohhh... and Happy New Year to Journey and everyone here! I cannot wait for a JSS/Journey CD!!! -->GET ON IT, JOURNEY<-- :D

Wiggle God?

I certainly don't wiggle or worship at his throne (or lack thereof) and I thought it wasn't such a good idea, either. That being said, I'm also sure it didn't have any effect on the outcome of the interviews, which I thought were good.

As it turned out, with all the backlash on Andrew and the interviews, I guess it wasn't a great idea. But, it's still no more unethical than letting obvious Wiggle God  worshipers rule the Official Journey board.

And with the greatest of respect to someone who seems like a very nice lady, I can't understand why people are so surprised that Andrew's choice of Dean as a helper has caused such a stir over at BT. Everyone knew in advance that Steve Augeri's fans would be distressed in the extreme at the official announcement so surely it follows that it's like rubbing salt in their wounds to find that the man who never tires of saying that he single-handedly brought down their idol had been given the "perk" of proof-reading the interviews.

I'm sure Andrew has lots of trusted associates from the mr.com site who have no or little interest in the Journey saga and would have been happy to proof read for him. Giving Dean the job is the same as giving him the official stamp of approval in the eyes of an Augeri fan. If I'm amazed at anything, it's at Andrew's lack of forethought. And I say that as a huge fan of the man!

Its simple, Andrew wanted three of his best posters to help in the final piece. If it weren't for a few of the people on this place things would not have happened like they did. It was no accident whom he chose, its his company.

There's always people who are privy to "inside" info. That's fine. What I don't understand is why you're so compelled to "spill it".

People like myself wait for the official announcement because we're NOT privy. And since you're NOT an employee of JOURNEY I'm simply not interested in swallowing your load as gospel.

I think the bigger question is why are YOU so offended by that?

What do you want people to do? You want everyone to simply accept without question everything you say as gospel?

Thanks joybringer1, I can understand your point of view. I guess I just couldn't understand why it's such a big deal, we have no idea of what goes on behind the scenes.....none of my business. I'm here for the music. These were Andrew's choices......if he trusts somebody enough to give the info out beforehand then so be it. I am just speaking from my point of view, and am just floored by some fan's actions (I guess on both ends) sometimes. Especially the smack talked about Deen C from his interview.....holy crap....the guy seems like a sensitive soul and even says in his interview how reading negative stuff on forums hurts him, so what do some so called fans do? I guess I am just endlessly surprised at some fans sometimes. :?

There you go! That's EXACTLY how people were played ohsherrie.

So, are you saying that you think Andrew got Dean to proof the interviews just to Play with the feelings of people who don't like Dean? I really don't understand your use of the word played.

What I meant was that people KNEW - flat out KNEW - that the decision was made to move on with JSS at the time of the interviews. JOURNEY clearly requested that this info be HELD until permission to announce came from the band. Despite that request the info was leaked in both insinuating and in-your-face manners. In other words: PLAYED.

If that's not clear to you then I'm not sure where you've been.

Ultimately, I don't care. I'm only stating that I find it pretty lacking in the area of credibility. I think leaking it - PLAYING IT - was a mistake that benefitted nobody and further polarized things.

Oh well.

I'm not here to harp on about it. I leave my harping for my Latin rhythm project

Of course people knew. It's kinda ridiculous to think that certain people don't know more than the average fan. I can think of a few people that post here that are friendly with members of the band on a personal level, who are also interested in the direction of the band. Do you really think they don't talk about what's going on? I happened to be fortunate enough to witness first-hand some of those relationships, I could easily tell that they were more than just 'casual acquaintances'. Hell, they may have even known stuff before Andrew did. And those of us who weren't taking a swim in denial river could see the writing on the wall a few months ago.

Andrew can ask whomever he chooses to participate in his work. That is for NO ONE to question. I guess if there's a lesson to be learned here (if Andrew even cares), it would be to perhaps thank those folks privately, instead of publicly. For me, I'm happy that Deano, TNC, and Sherrie were able to participate in such an event. Great Job guys (and girlie)!!!

Played? If you were unable to put 2 and 2 together, well..... What don't you understand about "chronic?" You either believed Augeri was having assistance or don't. You either believe he was unable to perform live or don't. It really wasn't hard to figure out if you were paying attention at the beginning and following the blog. The writing really was on the wall- official release or not.

Lula and Donna

That person, fry wings, or whatever he calls himself, has a one-track mind and nothing u say or do will even budge him one bit...You are both wasting your time and breath on him..his mind cannot compute what u are saying...you need to have an I.Q. above 100 to understand what u are trying to tell him.

BTW, thanks to everyone who helped Andrew with all that work....It was kind and considerate of all involved....

I've been right here seeing clearly what was really happening instead of hanging out in the Egyptian river.

At the time of the interviews the only ones who KNEW that the decision was made were Journey and the people they personally chose to tell. Andrew didn't know he was going to be asked to hold the interviews until after they'd been transcribed. He was hoping to get them up on the front page the next week. That's why he needed help getting them done. Nothing was leaked from the interviews to anyone by anyone. Dean and TNC already knew what the decision regarding Augeri was going to be but they didn't get the info from the interviews. Nothing was done by Andrew in an insinuating or in-you-face manner. No one was played at all. That's just your way of trying to skew people's perception of the situation in order to justifying your unjust indignation.

And by the way, if I want to hear latin pop music I'll listen to the Miami Sound Machine. I want Journey to sound like Journey.

Yea, we can all spoon in a big circle around the campfire with Backtalk as we lob bricks of hashish provided by TNC onto the blazing embers.

I want Journey to sound like Journey.

For you that means with Steve Perry, no matter what you say....ever. And that ain't gonna happen. So, who's in denial?

If Jeff's glutes didn't appeal to you, you wouldn't care less about Journey.

This is a message board. Half the people here are here for an agenda...and in the eyes of the world at large...and with no disrespect to Andrew...it's insignificant, except to Journey fans. It amazes me how many people live and breathe in front of their computers, forgetting there's a real world out there.
