This guy still has his job after this. AC/DC 1990 - Detroit pro shot clip. And this band sells MILLIONS and sells out arenas on their own even now when they tour. This is gruesomely bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck, the loons ought to be thankful Augeri was Perry's replacement. He might have been unspectacular, but he was competent enough (till tapegate) and never sounded like this.

I think the reason im not as pissed as others about Augeri is because ive heard so many of these examples, about 2 months ago i heard the real feed of a huge hispanic singer-- it was Enrique inglesias it was so bad -he could not sing at all , it was so clear that this guy could not sing a lick and yet he's a huge star---i've just excepted that this is hollywood so to speak------its all part of the game.

That's the one that was on Stern? I heard he came in studio and sang to prove that he could do it. Anyone know?

AC/DC has never been about great vocals anyway, so the comparison is flawed to begin with. Brian Johnson has always been a screamer and would probably tell you himself that he's no great singer.

That being said, I'm surprised that guy's voice lasted much longer than the "Back in Black" tour. By rights, that guy shouldn't even be able to talk anymore.

He's a living breathing walking talking croaking lozenge advertizement.

I wish they put records out for goddsake. There is some terrific heavy blues rock on Stiff Upper Lip.

I heard on the radio station that they have a new album to be released in late 08 and that they will also be touring in late 08.

I have to wonder how some of these bands my kids listen to will be able to perform into the future. Growling, screaming, double bass drum patterns at the speed of light. Man, I'd like to see them try THAT when they are mid 50's! Don't think we will be seeing much of them for too long.

He has sounded like a pissed off Chipmunk since 84. On the Back In Black album his voice was just mean and meaty. Perfect for the material. I bet his cords look like shredded bologna.

OMG I just heard it... Im speechless. Thats really awful. Sounds like it hurts really bad. Man I would have wanted my money back so badly.. That video is old too BTW because Chris Slade is drumming. Mid 80's ? If it was that blown then I cant imagine how he sounds now. Polyps the size of truck tires !

Yea, I know, but they've been threatening that every year since about '02.
This is becoming a mini Chinese Decmocracy.

I like Johnson's vocals on Back in Black and all the records, and this clip sounds nothing like it, and is brutal. It isn't a flawed comparison at all. If I was going to the show, I wouldn't have expected to hear that.

Not that it really was a comparison. Just an example. People where shredding Augeri for that CBS performance like he was a monster.

Well, now you have heard what truly bad vocals are. I do have AC/DC boots where Johnson sounds better than this.

I can post clips from bands that have been known to have "angelic" vocalists where they aren't that great either. The AC/DC clip was just so stunningly bad, I had to post it, and Nig requested it.

I didn't think Augeri's performance on the CBS show was as bad as everyone was saying. Not great, but not nearly as bad as it was made out to be.
