Augeri tour in 2007???

Postby Manarocks » Sat Dec 30, 2006 7:44 am

Seems like some Augeriwigglers in The Cooler forum think Augeri will release his solo cd and tour in 2007. They are making plans for a NYC concert get together. LOL They don't get it!!!!

I don't get why you have to post this? I'm an Augeri fan, will buy what ever he or any other member of Journey will do. If he tours close to me I will go see him. So what if there are Augeri fans out there?! I know he did wrong, who hasn't. Are you perfect. I don't think so, otherwise you wouldn't be baiting Augeri fans with this crap.
There are people out there, that like all the versions of Journey. JSS, Augeri, Perry, Rollie. Heck doesn't matter who is singing it was and still is Journey. And it was the band over the past year that fell, not one person.-ERIC

I don't think that Augeri will have anything out in 2007. I would be surprised if he did. I believe that if he did get a solo cd out, it will only be available thru Augeri's site, which looks like to me not fully up and running.........

Eric, good post. The bashing has gone on long enough. Time to stop. The announcement has been made.
Augeri needs to get his site up and running! its time to show his fans some respect.

Excuse me Eric. I posted what was on the cooler. I never said anything wrong with my post. You read in to it too much. I have been an augeri fan since 1993(Tall Stories). So please do not accuse of baiting just presently some facts from another forum. Read before posting buddy.

I thought he was a good singer before he screwed up his voice. I think if he got his voice back to the way it was in 1998, he could do something interesting, but from a purely compositional standpoint, his tracks on Generations don't really having me drooling over the prospect of a full album of songs like that. I wish him the best, but unless he finds some really great collaborators, I don't know how far he'll really be able to get on his own.

Very well said Eric. I for one am sick and tired of all the disrespect on this site lately. We have all done something we are not proud of. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that what Augeri (and the rest of the band) did is right or acceptable in anyway, but take a minute to put youself in their shoes. Let me use this very poor example. Let's say you are addicted to a drug and you cannot function without it, you can't work and you can't get done what you need to do without it. So, you obtain it by whatever means necessary so you can function and go on making a living. You know that you shouldn't do it, you want to stop, you want to kick the habit but you just can't. Does this make you a bad person? No, it doesn't. Would you be better off to just tell the truth, possibly lose your job and hurt a lot of people but get the help you need? Yes, probably. Would it be easy for you to see it that way? No it wouldn't. Now ask youself how you would feel if someone found out about it and exposed you, then for months and months and months after hundreds of people continually went on and on about how horrible you were because of your problem, you lost your job, you lost friends and crediblity. How would you feel? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I agree with your post. I am still an Augeri fan, and I'm looking forward to any future releases he might have. I will definitely see a SA show if he plays in my area. I don't think there's anything wrong with his strongest supporters getting together to attend a show of his.

I know, I said it was a bad analogy but it was the only one that came to mind at the time. I've since come up with some others but I'll keep them to myself.

When I was younger and I would comment on how someone who smoked smelled bad by Dad would always tell me that if all sins had a smell the world would be a very stinky place. I guess this is just kind of stuck in my mind right now. We all have done things that are not right and I feel bad that for those whose lives are so public that some feel they have a right to disrespect them when they do something not right.

Yes, he is a very smart man. The other part of that is that he also used to say that cigarette smoke is the sweetest smell in the chapel (in our religion smoking is a sin) because although they may not be living their live exactly right, they are trying.

I have a voice teacher friend that has spoken to Augeri recently. According to him, Augeri's voice is fully recovered. He did also say a while back that Steve felt he'd be back in Journey, but that didn't happen. I've also spoken to another voice teacher that worked with both of us in the past and he said that it was a "really tough gig for Steve". I think that if he doesn't have to go out and do Journey tunes all night, that he will be fine. If he's writing new stuff, and I hope he is, he can tailor it to his voice, whatever shape it's in.
I'm pretty tired of reading the Steve is the Antichrist posts myself. Some people really go overboard with it. One can argue that the entire band was in it and that Steve was the scapegoat. One can argue that Neal has wanted JSS in for a long time. One can turn a blind eye to the FACT that the band has used recorded vocals for a very long time... oh well. There's a new guy in the band now for good or bad (depending on your taste) and the band will move forward as will Augeri. I DOUBT Augeri will ever get a break with his solo stuff because of what went down. However, if it's good, I'll buy it as I like the guy's voice. Always have.
Journey should get off the road and get into the studio NOW. There's a buzz with the changing lineup and if they recorded something now, they could use that buzz as a springboard to promoting a new record. I'm not sure why they're waiting to do yet another tour. That baffles me.
Anyway, it'd be nice to leave the past in the past.

If what ails his pipes gets`well and he sings, as with Perry, I'd be there. I wouldn't expect it in '07 though.
If/when it happens I'm sure he'll cover some journey.

Bottom line I still think Augeri is a great singer, and when he's ON his game live, a very good in-concert guy.

Good tune, dude. Ever heard it live? We have boots here that have it....there's a good one in circ from Japan in 01 where it's played and Toronro 2004 which is also in circulation.

I wasn't trying to bash you personally. I was just commenting that it's getting a little old that people can't just say "Hey the guy screwed up" and move on (and by the guy, I mean the whole band)!! Why do we have to continue to try to come up with more and more evidence that they guy is a moron? He's not. And by the same token, it is just as ridiculous that there are people holding "Pray for Stevie" candlelight vigils and dressing all in black to mourn his "passing" or whatever the hell they are doing.

Those are the same people who think my man Steve is going to have a CD and tour in 2007 without any factual information from him. That's why I thought it was funny. Set the record straight I am a Steve A. fan from his Tall Stories days. I am not anti-augeri

Here that? Cd rot.
Come on, folks it's the season of giving. Somebody toss up a good live Live And Breathe here for us. Actually I think the '01 might only be a snippet as intro to wheel.
We need the live 2004 version DeTour

JeremyP,

That is why you should always make two copies of boots, etc. If something happens to one copy, you always have another to use to make a new one. Just passing along some friendly advice to you from me, the boot lady ! :D

Thanks! :) The same thing is happening with my Arrival cd. I actually had good results in copying the songs that wouldn't play onto my computer where they play fine now. So I'm hoping I can do that with the Japan bootas well.
