What Is David Lee Roth Waiting For?

General Intelligent Discussion & One Thread About That Buttknuckle

Why has David Lee Roth not signed on to the 2007 Van Halen Tour yet?

He doesn't like the idea of Michael Anthony being replaced by Wolfie Van Halen.

He realizes that his voice is too shot to be able to do justice to the classic Van Halen material on a live tour.

What Is David Lee Roth Waiting For?

Postby Voyager » Sat Dec 30, 2006 2:51 pm

Have any of you been wondering what David Lee Roth is waiting for? Eddie Van Halen has offered him a spot as lead vocalist for the 2007 Van Halen Tour. This national tour would obviously generate a huge cash flow for DLR, which he could desperately use after his contract to replace Howard Stern was canceled eariler this year. I believe there are one of three reasons that David Lee Roth has not signed on to this tour yet. If you have any other possible reasons, please post them.

I think he's also waiting for Alex to hide all the sharp pointy objects away from Eddie or Eddie to hide the doughnuts from Wolfgang.

I think Dave is being cautious, and he most definitely should be. Eddie has pulled the rug out from under him in the past.

Good point. Eddie did flip on him during the MTV fiasco for no reason. But Eddie also offered him a spot on a dying Van Halen, not a band in it's prime anymore. If I were DLR I'd be very cautious and get a contract or something from that band to make sure he doesn't get screwed over again.

I went with all of the above. There's a lot of things he'd need to really think about before he agrees to this.
