Anybody have an IPOD nano?

Postby Deb » Tue Jan 02, 2007 11:40 am

Argggggg...........I just got a pretty blue IPOD nano for Christmas  .....and have some how downloaded one of my daughter's playlists, and for the life of me can't figure out how to delete it from my IPOD. Nobody seems to know, anybody here know how to delete, cuz it sure isn't straight forward? Her hiphop crap just isn't cutting it with my AOR stuff. Mind you, I don't mind a couple of her Pussycat doll songs. 8)

You use iTunes to delete it. Your iPod will be listed and the play lists below it, each of which you can delete.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

My IPOD does come up with the playlists listed below, but can't find where to delete, no options up top or no option when right clicking. Once the playlist I want to delete is highlighted how do you delete. :?

I don't have a Nano, but I do have a Shuffle. When I want to delete something from my playlist, I just go into iTunes, click on the song and hit the "delete" key. Then I just reload the shuffle and it's good to go. It could be very different for the Nano. Good luck.

Can you not right click on the play list and delete it? It sure works that way on mine.

Thanks, it wasn't letting me highlight it before, so I didn't get the options. Now I can highlight and get the delete option. :D

OK, another question......do I have to add songs by playlist or can I add individual songs to existing playlists and update or will it add everything else in the playlist again too? Am I making any sense :?

definitely not a guy...but when I get downloads and they go into iTunes I can then throw the download on the desktop into the trash...it stays in my iTunes. ...not sure if it will work for what your talking about though...better make sure before you try.

if you delete them from itunes, they'll get deleted from your ipod the next time you sync

Well, yes and no. If you have iTunes set up to automatically sync your iPod when it starts, it will delete anything off of the iPod that is not in your iTunes library, and add anything to the iPod that is in the iTunes library but not on the player. However, you can set iTunes to allow you to manually manage your music. With that setting, it will not delete anything, and will not add anything automatically. It wil also not automatically create playlists. The setting for this is only available, to my knowlege, when the iPod is connected. So, don't delete anything yet. Hook up the iPod, and adjust the setting to allow you to manually manage your music. Then you can delete anything from your library you want without losing it off the iPod.
I'm still kinda new to this also, so I'm sorry if I'm sketchy on it.
