Baltimore show with Jeff

Postby ohsherrie » Sun Jan 07, 2007 7:37 am

I'm probably going to gush here but so be it.

I never thought I'd truly enjoy seeing, hearing anyone else sing the Journey catalog but Perry, but Jeff is just rockin' my Journey world right now in the Baltimore show.

He's got the voice(oh geez does this man have voice), he's got the moves, he's got the stage presence, he's sure as hell got the looks.

Anyone who isn't giving Jeff a chance because they're hung up on the Augeri cricis needs to see Jeff in action on a good bootleg or concert. Augeri compared to Jeff is like skim milk compared to heavy cream, or Near Beer compared to Corona, depending on your choice of beverage.

This is going to get me slammed by a lot of my Perry comrads, but he does a better job in this show on some of the songs than Steve did on the FTLOSM tour boots that I have. Steve will always be THE Journey Frontman to me(I know that isolated boots aren't a true picture), but Jeff's the next best thing to perfection. Besides the vocals, which are fabulous, you've got to see him work the stage, the band, and the audience.

If this team can't get a new song and CD accepted by the industry and public there's just no justice in the music world.

I'm looking forward to the future of Journey. We've still got some good years ahead of us. :D

ohsherrie, I agree that Perr ywil lalways be the one true voice of Journey. I liked Augeri (Sorry you didn't, but everyone is entitled to his/her own personal preference.) I wasn't sure about JSS until I heard some boots. Now I too am digging JSS in Journey. I can't wait for the next Journey cd. That's something I haven't felt in a while!

Augeri didn't do it for me, but like you said, it's about what you like. I just wish more of the people who were Augeri fans would give Jeff a chance. He's great. I can't wait to hear the new music they do with him.

I agree about the Augeri fans not giving Jeff a chance. I guess you could say the shoe is on the other foot now.

I have to give you that. But I did watch the Free Per View of the Las Vegas concert and even after Deano challenged me to listen to Arrival, Generations, as well as a bootleg concert,(even though I liked some of both Arrival and Gens) I still didn't think Augeri was the right voice for Journey. I think people just hear things differently. Just like people have different taste receptors for different foods, we have different auditory receptors for different sounds.

Like my banana cream pie vs chocolate cream pie argument! hehe

Have you heard Jeff's solo stuff? Really great. And his guitarist is amazing.

I totally agree. If you listen to the boots of the shows since JSS started with the band, the whole band sounds better. Neal is just killing the guitar. It's like the band is having a great time again. It is great to see and hear.
I hope they do some ROCKIN stuff on their next album.

Yep. Some can dish it out but can't take it. The Augeri only fans are getting theirs for all the grief the gave the perryheads.

Are the JSS backers going to be eventually called Sotoheads? JSSheads?
Whatever it is, I am one.

I'm sure those who don't support JSS (Which doen't include me) will have plenty of nicknames for us Soto supporters.

Good for you, I hope you have a great time Carol. I'm a Soto Loco and Perryloon, and by god I'm an Augeriloon also. I just love the band. I will take Journey however they present themselves.
