I have heard about some of the tension between Jon & Ritchie lately & I hope Bon Jovi breakup as a band for good real soon. BJ is only worth their only great classic rock album Slippery When Wet, no matter if there other ones have been just as popular. They haven't changed that much as a band, since their debut album way back in 84 & their latest one Have A Nice Day isn't much of a change in direction from New Jersey or Keep The Faith. Jon Bon Jovi is one of the lamest frontmen in rock & roll, as well as an average songwriter & performer, so calling him a rock legend is about as ludicrous as you can get. If they ever get inducted into the RNRHOF for some reason, it officially becomes more a joke than it already is, despite important groups like Sabbath & Skynyrd being inducted earlier this year.

are you kidding??? they are the hottest selling tour, they are selling out left and right and are getting awesome reviews.
they have their original band for what??25 years at least! a hugh following and they put on a great show. His voice isn't the BEST but the songs are catchy, chicks love him and they are selling albums. JBJ is on every radio station, every interview, every late night show. you cant stop them.

I Am is probably the best Jovi song I've heard in years......if this song doesn't become a hit, it will be a travesty...I wonder if the band know how good this song is??? C'mon boys release it!

And by the way I'm pissed at Jovi for not playing Vancouver for 9 years???? Can you believe it. Jovi used to love Vancouver...they recorded Slippery here now they could give a rat's ass....just brutal.....tons of fans here but still we get no Jovi...what's up with that???

And yes I believe they will breakup....get prepared for solo albums fro Jon and Richie.....

...so.. lets see.. they practically sell out two US Tours... they sell out thru Europe.. and their albums and singles continue to sell well (in spite of the obvious downturn in markets).

And they do all that only because people want to hear 3 maybe 4 songs off a 20 year old album....

As they say in Belfast (and presumably elsewhere)... see ya in the Beano! What are you sniffing?

Have A Nice Day is easily their strongest album since New Jersey! Jon Bon is still a damned fine frontman and certainly knows how to work a crowd. Richie is still the coolest member of the band (and yes.. he does have the stronger voice... he's just missing the stage presence...).

Bon Jovi have every right to be in the RNRHOF...

But all of the above is....just my opinion.

I agree with Wayne. I saw Bon Jovi on the Bounce tour and his front man abilities made me feel like I was watching an old Partridge Family rerun. Hokey, predictable, and C O R N Y.

Jon, you're not Bruce. Stop with the New Jersey story telling already.

As far as music, I've heard enough cliche's in Bon Jovi lyrics to last me a lifetime.

"Who Says You Can't Go Home"
"You had me at Hello"
"Wild in the Streets"
etc.

Richie's a great guitarist but Jon is just SO damned hokey. He's ready for Vegas.
Sold out tours? Maybe so, but hey, that proves that the masses are asses if you ask me. They weren't doing much in the states with the new album until they were on Opy and then every soccer mom latched on to them. Puhleeeeeeze.

Richie! Go Solo!
Oh, and "This Left..." felt like "This piece of crap". What a HORRID HORRID album!

Been there done that. Ritchie has two solo albums that choked. He's nothing without JBJ. JBJ tried solo too.
Nothing sells better than the band together.

My wife and I saw Bon Jovi in Chicago on the "Have a Nice Day" tour. Two sold-out shows in the Tweeter Center. The crowd went wild for every song, and the band delivered the goods. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot: Rush, Journey w/Steve Perry, Van Halen with DLR and with Sammy, The Eagles, Boston, Aerosmith, Kiss, etc.

Knock Bon Jovi if you want, but you're not speaking for the majority - and contrary to what you may think, the masses are not "asses" just because they don't agree with your negative bash on the band.

Anyone who can slag of Bon Jovi or JBJ is obviously a little deluded.

I understand how people hatre them and him, as he's a bit of a co*k, but at the end of the day they are
one of the worlds niggest selling bands, and not many people can put that on there CV.

i must say the last couple of albums since crush have been dissapointing, with only a few songs catching my ear, but
none the less, they still rocked at Coventry, for over 2 hours, which is a damn site more than most bands of today are
capable of playing, either due to lack of songs, or complete lack of talent.

Richies solo albums are awesome, and i think that if JBJ was to leave BJ, Richie could do just as gooder job, if not better by fronting them himself...??

Except for one or two cds, the band has had some really good cds. One of the longest running bands still out there with most of there originally members. Should stay together-ERIC

Totally agree Eric. IMO...This Left Feels Right...being their only mistake, and even JBJ has admitted as much on Larry King. Personally, I hope they don't go country.....one or 2 songs is fine, but full country.....no thanks.

As bad as This Left Feels Right is, I think those songs in that format actually work well live (or at least on the DVD) for some reason.
I don't see any valid reason as to why this band should break-up.

I love BJ, I saw them in Glasgow last yr and they were brilliant! I've heard that they're working on a new album now (I've heard the title is gonna be 'Lost Highways'??) which *apparently* is due out in April, altho that seems extremely quick for a full album but meh. Then apparently a new greatest hits (about time too!) and they'll tour with that again, I think in 08. This is all just hearsay tho so don't quote me on it.

I love Richie's solo CDs, not too keen on Jon's tho. I'd LOVE it if Richie did more solo stuff, especially if he toured with it. I'd love to see him perform some of his own material.

I know that loads of people love to hate them (every single person in my workplace does and love to make it known) but I don't care, I love the band, I have done for about 7 yrs now. I couldn't care if someone wants to slag them off - their hatred takes up their energy not mine! Yes we know they're full of cliches and cheesiness but who cares? They still write great catchy songs that speak to so many people in so many ways!

Yeah. 'Lost Highways' due for release erly April apparently. I don't think it'll be too countrified cos I think they know that straying from the norm isn't a good idea, as This Left Feels Right showed!

Bon Jovi are bigger than ever. I would be suprised if they broke up. If there are tensions between the members someone will get fired before the band breaks up. Bon Jovi is to big of a business to shut down.

I have written to Andrew and posted about this before but after the show at Hull in the UK last year BJ, more pointedly JBJ, went down in my estimation. The show was appalling, JBJ showed utter contempt for the 20 000 fans who had turned up with hsis lack of professionalism and being generally miserable. Richie played well but looked dreadful. Compared to the fun bunch of energy they were back in the day it was very sad. I've been with them since '84 but that finished me. JBJ's miserable/egotistical outlook was all to evident at the UK RNRHF too. Perhaps is failed acting career hit him hard and feels a bitterness somewhere? I don't know what it is but he needs to lighten up and get back to enjoying his music. Perhaps this move the C&W will do that, but I can't help but think it is a lame attempt to win back popularity across the US rather than the NE corner. Needless to say I won't be rushing to buy said release - mind you I don't suppose he will be bothered.

The two Sambora solo albums (plus some of the other additional pieces he's been involved in) are awesome. I've had them on in the car in the last week and have really been enjoying them. RS should be a huge star in his own right, and whilst I think JBJ can at times be a bit cheesy, I think they work well together. I have to admit I'm a tad alarmed at them going country but we'll see what the final product is like.

Personally I think Sambora needs to set up shop somewhere with a simple recording set up and truly record an album himself -without teams of yes men and producers, hangers on, etc.

Just a couple of decent mics and preamps and him.

The dude's got it in him.. All the money in the world, gorgeous wife, best job in rock & roll, but he's still spitting out pain.

He needs to do a REAL blues album..

First, he is divorced so there is a little reason for that pain.
Second, Undiscovered Soul was a little too "happy" for me. Stranger In This Town was a much better CD. It was obious that Undiscovered Soul was recorded during a very content time in his life. I don't want him in pain to create more emotional music but I think a little diversity in life can lead to stronger material.
