What life lessons have you learned

Postby SacredEyes » Mon Jan 08, 2007 1:44 pm

I have pondered this following our recent escapades to Walnut Creek, California . . . . Was wondering what "life lessons" you have learned since beginning your Journey experience?

1. You never know unless you ask.
2. Rent a car with GPS.
3. Sit at your gate when flying as not to miss the flight and/or flight announcements.
4. People just don't understand the love we have for the talents behind the band members
5. It's not just about the music

Just thought I would throw the question out there . . . .

1. avoid railroad tracks when the assistant dean is driving.

2. the tiny cup at Cafe Dumonde is plenty of caffeine.

3. concert boots rule.

4. take a sack lunch to New Orleans cuz there are no restaurants close by your hotel.

5. trade your DL shirt for a journey shirt--the DL fan's happiness is worth your loss.

6. front row at Red Rocks is ok until it is time to go back to your car.

7. don't eat the ILAA salsa.

8. don't say that Journey can't possibly beat this year's tour cuz they always do.

9. travel out of your normal concert stops--the guys notice and are glad to see you.

10. don't bother leaving during DL to beat the rush cuz you sit in the parking lot for 1 1/2-2 hours after the show anyway.

11. Wear a DL shirt over your Journey shirt for the DL set (and SWEAT more!!) because you are surrounded by DL peeps anyway. When in Rome....................ROCK ON! why not!!

12. be happy about your sucky seat because JSS may choose you in your seat all the way at the end of the stage to sing to. 8)

and the number one life lesson.

the BEST friends are the ones you meet at Journey concerts/forums/myspace.

it's so much more than the music.

1. If they say they treat their employees like family, RUN, because you can BEAT your family and they will still be expected to work. Employees have RIGHTS!
2. Burning a bridge as you leave is easier than having to go back and kill them later.
3. No matter how good looking someone is,... somewhere, someone is sick and tired of their shit.
4. If it's got tits, tires or a terminal, it's going to give you trouble, probably when you least want it to happen.
5. Take care of your pet, they won't be leaving you for some hot young thing, or needing a new car.
6. Truth is easier to remember than fiction. More fun too.
7. If the guy asking can get it without endangering his life or anyone else's, give him a buck or whatever you can, because there, but for the grace of God, go you.
8. Tomorrow is not here, nor is it guaranteed. Live today with that in mind.
9. There are CHOICES and there are DECISIONS. Lean to know the difference.
9a. Pick your Battles. Not every comment made to you requires a response, sometimes it's best to let somethings just sit there, like the turd that they are.
10. IN God we trust, all others pay cash.
11. Three can keep a secret if two are dead.
12. Always run videotape of groupies on the tour bus. Pictures being worth a thousand words, and all that might say for one in a court of law.......
13. Get high / drink / do the acid / do the 'shrooms / do the blow AFTER SEX. AFTER , AFTER AFTER. REMEMBER THIS. Tatto this on you somewhere...... You know why......

don't expect anything, and you won't be dis-appointed

If you're gonna play the game, learn to count for yourself, I'm tired of doing it. You're an adult for cryin' out loud.

Don't believe something told to you, unless you see it for yourself. Even then you should be leary.

Don't ever make new years resolutions.

If you don't get laid by the fifth time, then it's time to move on.

If someone says they are from a better city/have a better sports team than you, then let them live in their own dilusion.

Gayle,

How about asking the hotel if there are parking fees? Especially since parking at SF hotel was $45 a day and the rent a car was only $14. Sister, that's just not RIGHT?!@#

Nice. I was so pissed about that. Life lesson: BART doesn't look so bad at that point. But, the GPS in the rental car made up for it!

People will lie to you and use you to get what they want.

Just because you are nice to someone does not mean that they will be nice to you.

1.When leaving work late, you will go unnoticed. When you leave work early, you will meet the boss in the parking lot.

2.Hard work will pay off later.Laziness pay off NOW!

3.It takes years to build up trust and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

4.Minds are like parachutes. They work best when open.

5.Eat well, stay fit, die anyway.

6.If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before.

1. I'd rather make a bad impression than no impression at all.

2. Never rely on anyone else.

3. No one can hurt your feelings, you can only allow yourself to be hurt.

4. Lick the alphabet.

5. Ground rules for relationships are set in the first few weeks. If you complain that your partner is too demanding , it's your fault for putting up with it in the first place.

6. Swing at the first pitch, it's likely the best one you'll see.

7. Don't work hard, work smart.

8. Treat your friends that don't drink like gold, you can't have too many designated drivers.

9. High self esteem is called "arrogance" by people that are jealous of you.

10. Love yourself first and foremost, because if you don't, then you have nothing to offer someone else.

What life lessons have I learned?

1. It isn't all about me. It never has been. It never will be. Get over it.

2. You can be honest without being a jerk. There is a time for the blunt truth, but sometimes the truth goes down a little easier with a "spoonful of sugar".

3. Put others first but don't neglect yourself in the process.

4. Be vulnerable to someone. Real friendships don't happen without it.

5. If you're never offended by anything, you probably don't believe in anything strongly enough to be living life to its fullest in the first place.

6. Being a Christian doesn't make you a dishrag, nor does it make you perfect.

7. Real men do cry sometimes...Losers claim that real men don't or shouldn't.

8. Work hard AND smart.

9. When your wife asks you if she is fatter/skinnier than another woman, either pretend you didn't hear her, refuse to answer, or tell her she looks fine the way she is.

10. Spending QUALITY time with your family probably isn't going to happen all that often unless you spend QUANTITY time with your them.
