Lately, I haven't been able to pick between "Frontiers" or "Escape" and "Infinity" is running a close third.

What is your favorite Journey CD

Postby infinityplusone » Wed Jan 10, 2007 2:10 pm

(in order of preference)

1. Escape
2. Captured
3. Infinity
4. Departure
5. Raised on Radio (don't like the circumstances of its creation, but cannot deny 3+ great songs on it)
6. Evolution
7. Next
8. Frontiers
9. Look into the Future
10. Journey
11. Generations
12. Arrival
13. Trial By Fire (acknowledge it's "technically" good, just too depressed at how "tired" it sounds to really enjoy it. Can't Tame the Lion is a cool one tho)
14. Red13

hmm... tough one... I'd say Escape, for being the first Journey album to run into...

Frontiers for me, always has been! I like the fact that it has a very wide spectrum of sound, from soft ballads to harder, slightly more experimental songs. And the album art is cool too, so 80's.

Trial By Fire is a close second, because I think that the band (with that line-up) reached their maturity peak with it. I love how complex the music is, and how you can just hear that it was recorded by musicians who have spent years and years honing their skills.

That's exactly what I hear in that CD. It's Journey's masterpiece.

They all have their place, like someone said earlier different albums for different times. Never got into Frontiers but always go back to Captured one of the best live albums of all time without doubt.
