Andrew, I know this need to push away from the table. I used to moderate a forum at one time, and when it got to the point when I was losing sleep over the crap that people pulled, I had to step away as well. There's absolutely no way to control what people's opinions are or their actions, so do be gentle on yourself. This forum has it right, the ability to speak your mind, right or wrong is great. Put your feet up man, you've earned it.

Drew, your site is wonderful for news and making friends with other Journey fans...
You did not make any mistakes, it was your interview to do with what you wanted..
You had the right to choose whoever you wanted to proof-read your interviews..

You should not let those FEW run you off of your own site...
I will miss you!
Hurry back to us soon...
Post once in awhile to let us know how u are doing.....

The proof readers were supposed to be anonymous, but Deano rarely passes up an opportunity to promote himself and did so with this tidbit of info.
It most definitely offended the Augeri fans, who felt that I had clearly shown who’s side I was on and saw this as somewhat of a reward bestowed by me upon Dean for what happened in 2006.

What happened happened. Yea, deano had something do with Augeri, but letting read your article shouldn't matter. I am a HUGE Augeri fan, and I have no problem with Deano reading it. Everyone should move on-ERIC

Personally I don't mind Deano myself. He's the kind of guy that if he's going to knife you, he'll knife you from the front rather than the back. I admire that as that seems to be a rare quality in the two faced, backstabbing world we live in. I have much more respect for him (despite the fact that I might disagree or find him too abrasive) than half these other people who would just assume unleash hell over something that shouldn't even have that kind of an impact on your life.

Does whoever that sings lead on Journey impact my day to day life? no
Does Journey pay my bills? no
Is Journey a required expense? no

So with all that in mind, I have to wonder about people who act like that. I can't imagine what its like to deal with this nor do I want to. But the bad attitudes at the host need to stop. As Jonathan Cain said to those same fans once... "Get a life."

Couldn't agree more! Andrew, take a well deserved break and thanks for all you do for this whole site........and good luck T-Bone.

Andrew, don't leave for good! Don't let those negative post get to ya...they are always gonna be like that - finding something to bicker about & make themselves look "superior". It is easy to hide behind fake names, sitting at a computer, blasting away - but, it is cowardly. Also, take everything with a big grain of salt...what some people may post may be the opposite of what they deep down believe to be true...but, probably they won't admit it. Who knows? Some people definitely get their jollies from arguing over everything & put downs, 'tho. :( This happens on a lot of forums, not just here...I don't particularly like it & I don't understand it. There are more things to pour your energy into outside of the computer and it is more satisfying to lift up than to tear down.

We can tell you are a sensitive, honest guy & actually that is good that you did get bothered by some things (it shows you aren't calloused & uncaring) - and, NOBODY wants their job, their livelihood to be criticized - that is understandable. I like reading your interviews - I think the guys seem relaxed with you & let themselves be vulnerable - we are all human, we all make mistakes & that is what we learn from & do it differently.

Besides, nobody but the actual people involved directly with 'tapegate' knows what brought it all about and they aren't gonna ever talk....so, the fans will always be left to their own theories & conclusions - there's nothing you can do about that.

I find it hard to understand why some angry fans think you weren't objective in your interviews? You didn't add your own words or anything and neither did the ones proofreading. Their anger is misdirected & they seem to believe in some ridiculous conspiracy that you, Dean & Neal were trying to "get rid of SA 'cuz JSS is waiting in the wings"!! lol! Journey Soap Opera.

There is a lot of neat info & discussion on this board (if you overlook the gross & insulting postings) and you have a wealth of music related info to share. Take a break from it all, breathe in nature & let it rejuvenate you and then let it all go - move on and enjoy what is your passion. :)

They all, DEAN included, did a wonderful job IMO. Please don't let the nit-pickers get to you like this.

And for those stating this place is "pro JSS", why don't you find someplace else to go then.

Yup.. Melissa hit right on the nose.

Andrew.. we all think you are doing kick ass job and appreciate all the hard work you have done for this site. Maybe a "small" break is needed, just dont stay away too long. We'll miss you. Take care and we'll try to behave ourselves for T-Bone.

Andrew i am distressed at the fact that some of your enjoyment of this website has been spoiled :? If you lived near enough i would be on my way over with a few beers and a evening of rock chat and reminders of what a exellent web site you run.
You must understand that the Augeri psycho fans will hate Dean for ever and anyone who even speaks with him! In regard to the fact he proof read your interview....SO WHAT? These fans are not into music but blind god like worship of Augeri and feel the pain of reality hitting them hard! They must blame someone if only to vent there anger, look at the fact Dean Castronovo had not spoke to Augeri in the interview with him....outrage poured on him.
Take it easy mate :D

I've actually been on this site for a long time, I just don't really post alot. I know what a shitstorm the Journey forum can be, especially with the various opinions and feelings towards the band and the decisions they make. When the day is done, they're still their own band and don't really have to consult anyone regarding what they decide to do or not do. People just need to remember that. Sure everyone will have their favorite version or era, but that doesn't mean that others are wrong in their opinions. It's just like religion... no one is right and no one is wrong... we just need to tolorate and keep our own beliefs to ourselves and quit pushing it on to others, and the world may be a better place.

I'm not the Iron Fist type of person, but I have little tolorance for bullshit, or stupidity for that matter. Those threads wil either be deleted or locked and bossman can decide from there what to do. I have faith that "most" people can play in the sandbox nice. I guess we'll have to see

Music is totally different from religion. I agree that music is totally subjective and that, in the end, it all comes down to opinion.

I don't play much at all, really. I probably know more ABOUT guitars, guitar playing, and guitarists than any actual playing skill.

I paid about $700 for that thing back in, I think, 1992. It sounds good but it doesn't stay in tune like it should. I haven't played enough recently to justify spending the money to get it looked at to see what might be wrong with it. It stays in tune okay as long as I don't use the tremelo bar very much. If I had known better at the time, I probably would've saved up my money and bought a standard Strat.

Same here really.

I bought a lot of guitars back in 95, and it did keep my interest while I was single.

These days I know a whole lot of riffs, but not many complete songs. Putting in a cd, playing barre chords and singing along amuses me enough these days.

Still love having them around, and I have a lot of friends who play a lot so it makes for some fun jam sessions in my basement.

Andrew... see ya man!!

Ive hardly posted anything for weeks,so cannot be named in this shambles that has occured.... the "hiatus" before the news item finally was printed, seemed to kill people off here!

Didnt even know Deano had proof -read, but it reinforces what most thought, that he was somehow protected and priviledged here, and typically, he always turns out to be about "self-promotion" ..all your guilty of Andrew, is being a poor judge of character.. you gave him many many many chances, but he always slapped you in the face. I took him on for a while, because I knew he was a loser.... but I soon gave up, as he had a small bunch of fellow losers around him, like vultures feeding off his scraps.... he was the court jester, and they were his fools... running to his defence. Afew of us knew the real truth... hello Moose, and others....who kept it real....

Yeah, I know a few riffs, basically just the standards, you know..."Smoke on the Water", "Rock You Like a Hurricane", "Smokin'", etc., etc. I have managed to come up with some solos that I like but they're not difficult to play at all. Of course, I'm not good enough to come up with something off the cuff, though.

Do your tuners slip at all? My Ibanez used to go out of tune a lot until I replaced the stock tuners with a set of Grovers.

the black strat has double locking nuts.. ,, something is wrong with the floyd rose.. when u tune it up , put a rag under the back of the floyd rose then tune it up ,tighten everything down , u should be good,, might need to take a spring off the back , or to tighten up the screws on the springs,, very fixable,, the bad part is that the metal strats have lost thier value, great playing guitar yes.. but folks just didtn take to it ,, its has a pink sister too.. you would have to be tough to play her though..
