Andrew wrote:I want to thank everyone for their messages and posts – I really had to get that off my chest yesterday and after some time thinking about things, plus some wise words for a few friends…I’m back.

I think if anyone had to endure the year I just have as far as being moderator of this forum, I think they would completely understand where I was coming from.
So many people to try and keep happy – so many very vocal and passionate fans from two very distinctly opposite sides (both going at each other) – running this forum has been more work than I ever anticipated.
I think those that are new to any Journey forum or new to operating one will soon realize that the online Journey community of 2006 is still very divided and it remains hard to find common ground between the two.

I really want this to be my last word on anything do to with controversy, my personal issues or anything else that isn’t just Journey.
If I have offended anyone, or made a decision that they have not agreed with, or not controlled this forum to their liking – then I am sincerely sorry for that.

That said – I have to accept that I am never going to please everyone and not everyone is going to like this forum (whatever their reasons) and I will accept that.
But anyone with a problem or issue to do with the forum – please do me the courtesy of talking to me directly about it.

To find a new plot, sometimes you have to lose the old one and I think I’ve definitely been close to doing that recently.
But in getting this all off my chest I do feel as if I can move on and whoever is with me here is with me and whoever isn’t, well…perhaps they’ll reconsider down the track sometime.

There will be a different feel in here this year, but I think that will largely be driven by the users, as the turmoil of the last 12 months is now behind everyone.

I think I run a pretty good forum. In fact, I know I do.
But I am also aware of where improvements can be made and while I will not let a disgruntled few distract me from the positives of this place and how much many people enjoy it, I will definitely take on board any valid criticisms or valid advice for making this a better place for all.

There is also the perception that this board is dominated by the larger than life personality of one user. While that may have been the case, I do not think that is true now, but will try to ensure that no one person or small group of people dominate the board.
The job of moderating the board simply ran over the top of me in recent months and I’m stepping straight back in to get it right.

I want one thing made perfectly clear – this is something that has continually been raised and I see it as a fair point. There is a belief that some are allowed to get away with a lot more than others.
If you are under that impression, then again, I apologize.
From this moment onwards – the NO PERSONAL ABUSE rule is the absolute paramount rule and will be applied to everyone and I mean EVERYONE in an equal fashion.

I’m not huge on lists of rule…you guys know them.
I am going to ‘suck it and see’ – meaning if I need to make a new rule as we go along, then I will do so.

Ok, so let’s see how this goes. Starting with no more lengthy posts about bugger knows what from me!

PS. I'll leave T-Bone in the firing line as my back-up. Thank you sir!

nice post. }:C)

andrew you really shouldn't be surprised that some people (especially sa fans) would be upset to find out that deano helped proof read your article. some sa fans were prolly hoping for sa to return... or maybe it didn't really hit them until it was announced that jss is staying. so it prolly wasn't such a good idea to have him help... or at least he should have kept his pie hole shut... or whoever spilled the beans. }:Cþ

i'm not a huge sa fan... he did grow on me. i feel really bad for him... and his peeps. even tho i feel journey could have handled things better i stll love those guys. }=C)

drama drama drama... heh.

Andrew- I thought I was going to have to sew you a white flag. Charge on! Please NEVER try to appease complainers or the line will just get longer. I hope you do take some additional days ,especially with family, since you have a sub to mod. Deano will always be a highlight on your site, but payback for his evil deed, which is pointing out the truth, will be avenged by some as long as they can type.

Andrew, this is the line in the replies that you should pay most attention to. I'm a relative newbie here, but I think you run the best music site available. There are a great mix of folks here, the vast majority of them totally appreciate what you do and especially your level of moderation. You let things fly in here that other sites don't, and I think this forum is way better for it. Take some time and collect yourself, then get your Aussie fucking ass back in here and do the great job you've been doing. We, and I think I speak for a whole lot of folks, appreciate your tireless efforts to bring us a great place to talk about what we love.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

And those are not John Kerry's words either.
Anyone who bothered to watch his speech in in it's entiriety, noted that Kerry flubbed a jab at Bush.
Even Bill O'Reilly said so.
Why would Kerry turn a stump speech (intended to raise money for a fellow congressman) and start bashing troops?
His whole speech up to that point had been a comedic anti-Bush monologue.

Of course, "the liberal media" never bothered to play you that.

I haven't heard Bush or Cheney degrade you like that.

Actions speak louder than words.
Bush has consistently fought to cut veterans benefits and sent our troops into war without sufficient battle armor.
Meanwhile Kerry has fought for veterans benefits his entire career.

Welcome "back" Andrew. Don't give up on what you created. If you feel you have garbage to take out, then take it out. Don't apologize for it! Personally, it will be nice to not see all of the personal attacks anymore. This is a great forum, very informative. Again, thanks!

That sufficient battle armor as well as pre 911 intelligence spending turned into Clinton's "surplus" they always gloat about

I have no idea what your trying to say here.
I very much doubt you do, either.
Just a typically lazy Conservative tactic of pinning everything at the doorstep of Bubba.

Let me ask you this, when future President McCain or Giuliani is drowning in a hellish nightmare of their own making, will you then begin blaming things on George Dubbya?
..Seems to be the way you guys operate.

The Clinton surplus was squandered on tax cuts for the the country's top most rich percentile.
The Clinton's admin. is not at fault for recent decisions by the Pentagon such as deciding NOT to adopt Israeli anti-RPG technology.

Turn off Sean Hannity and scour the trailer park grounds for your mislocated brain.
