LOL.

I have been huge caller of the day twice actually Ed. It wasn't even about sports. I bashed Ray Carruth and made fun of OJ. Romie was laughing real hard.

As far as Journey is concerned...I definitely will continue Journey as long as they continue to perform. That said, I've been on record as saying they'll never be musically relevant again, in our lifetimes, and stand by that. If my prediction turns out to be wrong, I'll be very okay with that. I just don't see Journey ever being taken seriously, by the music world, without Perry's voice (and probably not even with Perry's voice, at this point)!

I agree, don't worry about the banter, that's all it is. I think, or sincerely hope, that Journey will be relevant. I think JSS will be what they've needed. I'm not sure anymore what would sell in the music industry. It's gotten so diluted, fragmented and just plain weird. But Journey has a pretty damn good fan base, at least in my part of the country. They played at the Smirnoff Music Centre here in Dallas in July, and it was reported that the place hadn't sold out like that in 25 years. I'm sure Def Leppard brought in quite a few folks too, it was a damn good double bill. I was shocked at how many young people were there, it was a mad house, and 101 degrees out that day. Neal was sweating before the end of the Star Spangled Banner...lol My first time to see JSS. Didn't know who the hell he was. Didn't know Augeri wasn't performing until I was in line to get in. I still had a great time over-all.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I miss having Rome on the air here. His takes that are not even about sports are the funniest shit ever!

Awesome you got through a couple of times. Hope you taped them.

I was there too....it was SO hot, but it was amazing to see that crowd....we were 4th row, and could turn around and see the mass of people with lighters and cell phones in the air. It was a really great night. I think reports were there were 18000 people there. That was my first time seeing JSS as well, and even though it was "different", I remember thinking this guy has it going on! He only got better over the next shows I attended, and by the time of the last gig in New Orleans, he was on fire!

Borgata show

Postby Journeyman2122 » Sun Jan 14, 2007 1:45 am

The song that did it for me was LTS i know this sounds gay but during the jam part I got chills during that song and I knew journey could continue better than ever. Also of a lot of young people are going to journey shows I think Journey is still revelant in todays music scene. After all they had the 14th top grossing tour in the US this past year.

Listen.

You are about to see Journey in a very good light. Trust me. This band has come together in a very positive way.

To all of you who needlessly bitch, whine, and generally have a negative opinion, with no basis at all mind you, state your case now. Get on record. Especially Ms. Monker. I am so sick of your womanly ways you ugly sonofabitch. Get on record, state your case and predict your Journey future. I will save this thread if you reply that is, and shove it up your internet ass when everything you say becomes dried cattle shit.

RockinDeano wrote:Fuck you and your fucking art pics. Listen to me, I know your game and I resent you trying to use me for certain things. Oh yeah, we'll debate face to face I can guaranfuckintee it. Maybe I will respect you if you "bring it."

You should PM if you have a problem.

Like I said, this board has become gayer than gay. I am here to start up the fucking engine.

RockinDeano wrote:Hey you old bag, your wrinkled eyes cloud your already fucked up vision. I am smarter than you, I can tell you that already, so you are already behind the curve.

Because I don't have a shit-awful art painting of a fucked up sunset that looked like Stevie Wonder painted it, does not make me stupid. I love women, booze, good sex and bashing morons like you around like a BB in a boxcar. O yeah, I am good at all those things.

I could have sworn that I read a post by Andrew the other day that he was not going to allow personal attacks on this forum any longer? Was that true Andrew, or did someone hijack your account and start posting under your screen name? It looks as though Deano has gone off on a slandering temper tantrum just to spit back in your face and say, "You will not tell me what to do.".

I cannot stand it when I see a bully like this Deano character come on this forum and rule it like he does. Doesn't anyone have a backbone to stand up to this guy? Are you all going to sit here and cower to him and let him slander and call people names?

If so, I am out of here. I left this forum for a few months before due to this very reason, and sadly, I am leaving again now until someone puts a lid on this forum bully. He needs to be taken out back and given a good spanking, obviously something that his daddy never had the guts to do.

This thread serves no purpose other than to spit in Andrew's face. That's exactly what Deano is doing. Does this disgust anyone else, or am I the only one?

there are a lot of things in life that you just have to let roll off your back. this is one of them. can't take these conversations so
seriously. if you allow rants like this really bother you, you will not be able to handle the REALLY important issues that are thrown at you in life.
just roll with it.

Yea, I was one of those way back there with the lighter! I was up against the back wall. By the time I got around to buying tickets, all that was left was the sucky ass lawn. I figured that was better than nothing. That Smirnoff place sucks though. Smirnoff holds 20,111 according to their website, and it was oversold. No telling by how much. I would have figured that Journey/Def Leppard would have at least gotten Reunion Arena though. I guarantee you one thing, I will get a seat next time, I will be more on the ball, no more lawn for me. Buncha fucking animals back there...lol

I am not all about ripping people to shreds. This board is about passion and arguments. I say great. However, have a take and don't suck. Monker NEVER has any source to cite. He has opinion and his opinion is very thin. I have opinions, but they are laden in thick proof and history.

That's all I am saying.

I am kickstarting this Board, starting today. It won't be bash for bashing's sake, but Goddammit, if you have a take on something, bring it, don't half ass it.

The reality is that ALL of what you said Deano is an opinion. When you say the band will be shown in a good light, that's your opinion. I'll decide if the band gets shown in a good light for me. I'll give them a chance and if they blow it, then they blow it. If they make good on it, then they make good on it. Either way, the world won't stop.

Deano, the few times you HAVE been forced to take a vacation from this board didn't have anything to do with your "proof and history" but more to do with the fact that you DO like to shred people. Even if Monker's opinions don't hold the muster as far as you're concerned, too bad. I'll take the tone of his posts any day to yours.

You've told me things in PMs that you've tried to disallow publicly. Beyond that, what you "learn" one day about Journey might change the next, depending upon the "winds of change" within the organization. Nothing happens until it happens and until it happens, it's ALL just theory and opinion.

Proud to say I never left the train and remain onboard.

Let's add Jeff to the writing mix, get Kevin Elson in the fold, convene across the bridge in Sausalito at The Plant and record another monster new album THIS year, hopefully get it out by 4th Q....JSS/Schon/Cain/Valory/Castronovo. Sounds like rock!

Meantime a live album will do just fine to bridge the gap.
