Our new Journey, what do we want?

Postby ohsherrie » Mon Jan 15, 2007 2:24 pm

I personally want the basic Journey sound with enough of Jeff's influence to give him a chance of being recogized for his own talent rather than just as a replacement for Perry.

Oh...Sherrie!!!

This is a no-brainer!! Classic Journey sound with that sexy Soto influence! Jeff's got enough of SP running through him to give us what we want from the Perry-era while putting a 21st century edge on the classic and NEW music! It sounds to me like they know exactly what they want to do and how to get there. We definitely don't want another 'wannabe'. (And I mean that in the nicest way possible...)

It's the best of both worlds!!! 8)

Now, if we can only get SP to release something...

Why no button for the pre-Perry fans? I love me some prog rock.

I'd like a pre-Perry feel but with that Soto punch.

Deano.....my other half LOVES miget jokes....gotta pass those along....

Back to Journey......I know the sound will be different because of Jeff's writing style. The music will generally be the same, but there will be more popularity on the radio waves I think. I'm hoping we will get to see them on tv as well. I know the guys are not spring chickens, but they asked for it by hiring Jeff, so hang on you old farts, Jeff is about to take you on one WILD ride....and when its time to retire, they can go knowing they saved the best for last!

I agree with Sherrie! I want it to rock like Soto and sound like Journey! I bet that is probably how it is going to sound! Just, Jeff, if you are reading this thread..mental note! If you guys have about 12 songs on a record...10 rockers 2 ballads! Some of those rockers can be mid tempo if ya want, but I want to hear some rockin' Journey songs in the vain of Separate Ways, Edge of the Blade, Chain Reaction, Stone In Love, Escape......that is what I want to hear!

Sorry NSF, I didn't even think about that, but it all sort of fits under the heading of Journey.

Can we custom order personalized CD? I'll take mine with two ballads, four rockers and the rest mid tempo. Oh, and supersize that to a CD/DVD combo pack.

Here's a little sound advice for you men out there.

If a woman tells you she will do ANYTHING for air supply tickets (circa early 90's), it's not worth it, not for ANYTHING!

Shit, this is the second time today I've questioned my hetero-ness on this damned forum.

um, I vote for classic Journey sound with Jeff influence please. = hard rock again?
