Oh and there are those thousands that lost their lifesavings due to the lack of adequate health coverage. Oh yeah, and there are also the ones that are struggling in entry level jobs because all that were available were in those small businesses that are so popular with this administration. Maybe by the time they get their college loans paid off though some big corporation will come swallow the business and then things will get better for them, until they close the place and move the jobs to China that is. I almost forgot about the ones that couldn't even afford a college education because their folks lost their jobs so they have to work for minimum wage to help their family out.

I don't know what world you live in but I'm glad everybody their is getting richer.

The fact is the economy is strong. When I said "everyone", it was a purposeful exaggeration to make a point. You're smart enough to know that.

You steadfastly refuse to believe the economy is doing well despite what the facts show and only for the fact that Bush is President and you're so blinded by your hatred for him that you don't look at things objectively. Are there problems? Sure, but you have to be willing to see both sides. You're not seeing both sides.

I'm not getting richer but that's not because of what Bush has or hasn't done. It's because of my own stupid mistakes, no one else's. That's pretty much how it is for most people. In the long run, it's up to you to better your own life and to quite blaming people in the government for your own lack of success. I've taken responsibility for mine and we would all be better off if everyone did the same.

I was unemployed during part of the Clinton administration and if I had followed your example and looked at all the reasons why I could have blamed my woes on Clinton and his policies, I probably could have. The area of the country I lived was far worse off than most of the rest of the country at the time, too, but I took the opportunity to better myself through education and hard work instead of spouting rhetoric against the government.

Female President

Postby Tracie555 » Sun Jan 21, 2007 4:14 am

I would vote for a woman in a second, if I thought that she would do a good job.

As far as Hilary, I wouldn't vote for that nasty hag if my life depended on it!!! I still can't figure out why people think that she is this strong woman?? She basically told the entire world that it was just fine that her husband fuck anyone else, and betray her family. I just don't get it?? She should have kicked his ass to the curb instantly just to save face. I think that she is strong in that nasty bitch way, but when it comes to personal strength she is a coward.

Bye-4-Now :)

There you go. Closed-mindedness at work.

Most people had more money in their retirement accounts when Clinton ended his run, than they do now, and that's even after 7 years of this moron, in the white house! As far as energy costs going up when Clinton was in the White House...Perhaps that's true, but gas was NOWHERE near $2.00 a gallon, let alone approaching almost $4.00 per gallon, during W's administration! As for home ownership going up...I can assure you that has NOTHING to do with Bush, AT ALL! I own a mortgage company and can tell you from first-hand experience that the only reason home ownership has gone up is because banks have became VERY relaxed with their underwriting guidelines over the past 5 years. Something you neglected to mention, in your glowing review of W. is that foreclosures are at a 30 year high!

If people have less money in their retirement accounts now, it is their own fault, not Bush's. Americans have been on a spending kick, at the expense of their savings, for the last few decades now, despite anything ANY Presidents have done.

Clinton got credit, and deservedly so, for home ownership going up under his presidency. There's no reason Bush shouldn't get credit during his. As far as foreclosures go, are foreclosures at an all time high based on sheer numbers alone or is the percentage of foreclosures higher. It stands to reason that if more people are owning homes then the numbers of foreclosures are going to go up at least in proportion. If the proportion of foreclosures is higher than the growth in ownership, then that definitely is a problem.

As far as "neglecting" to mention it, you make it sound as if I purposely left it out. That isn't the case.

Nope, I'm not refusing to see anything. As soon as I see something tangible to indicate the the economy of this courtry as a whole is better off now than it was under Clinton I'll be glad to look at it. I don't mean numbers generated by accountants. I mean reality. The economy is undoubtedly better for a certain segment of the population, and that's all the numbers on paper represent, but not for the majority of it. I'm smart enough to know that.

Dave, that's the most simplistic, head in the sand, platitudinous crocks of shit I've ever heard, and you're smart enough to know that.

Do you really think all of the unemployed and underemployed people in this country are setting around whining about the government instead of trying to better their lives? Oh, that's another one of your purposeful exaggerations, right?

The economy is better for a majority of the country, not just the rich. I don't get it. I go out of my way to point out that, as much as I disliked Clinton as president, he deserved credit for the good economy during his term. People like you just can't bring yourselves to give Bush any credit at all despite the evidence and then I'm the one who gets accused of being a blind Bush supporter, even though I disagree with him on several major issues.

Who's the blind one?

No, it's not a purposeful exaggeration. It's the truth. I've been unemployed enough times to know that tons of people milk the unemployment benefits in this country as much as they possibly can. They sit around collecting unemployment instead of busting their ass looking for a job or doing something to better their education. Is it easy? No, but quit being a complainer and do something about it, for crying out loud.

And you honestly don't realize that it's that spending kick that has helped over inflate the numbers that indicate to you that our economy is stronger?

Some of those people who don't have as much in their retirement accounts are in that situation because their companies screwed them out of part of it just before they closed operations in this country. I'm not just talking about the ones as obvious as Enron, it's being done to various degrees more covertly by a lot of companies.

Then again, some of those people may have had to dip into their savings to put gas in their cars, heat their homes or educate their children because they lost their jobs and/or had to take paycuts.

You must be, or just totally deluded. The economy is absolutely not better for the majority of this country. The middle class is disappearing. Everyone sees that, even Trump. Do you honestly believe that the majority of those people who were once the middle class are now part of the upper class?

No, it's not a purposeful exaggeration. It's the truth. I've been unemployed enough times to know that tons of people milk the unemployment benefits in this country as much as they possibly can. Well, as a woman I can say that I don't think America is ready for a woman president. I'm not sure we'll ever be ready for it. My personal opinion is that it takes a certain amount of 'strength' to be the superpower that we are, and it would be difficult to be perceived as that with a woman as president. It's an image thing, IMO. I do believe that a woman can be as diplomatic and as intelligent as any man that you could put in the White House. But I don't think Hilary is the right woman to do the job, ever. There's too much baggage attached to her already. Do I think she's smart enough? Absolutely. Do I think she could 'handle' the job? Yes. Do I trust her? NO WAY!!!

I don't know of any woman right now that I would want in that position. Again, it's about image, especially in today's world. If other countries (groups, etc.) think they can bully us or attack us, they will try.

Guess you can tell which side of the fence I'm standing on, huh? :?

Obama was so impressive last year at the convention and since has realy played all the cards right...I think we are more ready to elect a black well educated man into office rather than some rabid pitbull bitch looking for purely power!!!! There..I feel better now.

I like Obama too, but I like Hilary more. I haven't yet heard anyone give any legitimate reason for disliking her other than because she's a strong, intelligent woman who doesn't mind busting a few balls. But then again, that's probably why the guys don't like her. If she was more like Stratford Wife Laura Bush more men would probably like her. Afterall, a woman's place is trying to put more books in the school library, not trying to devise a plan to provide adequate health care to a nation, right?

If you think Clinton came up through money you need to do a little more research on that.

My "opinion" is that Hillary is just not electable. MOST guys will not vote for her. She is a steaming pile of shit and is not as bright as her hubby was. Pubs win in a fucking landslide over her - is that what anyone wants?

**** = Not electable.

Next -------------------------------------------------

Obama = much better shot. Joe Biden actually on the D side is who I think is normal.

The other side? They are fucked cause of Bush. Rudy and McCain have the best shot.

Could care less really, a fucking cock roach could run the country with the proper financial backing. :?
