The AFC might just have the 4 best teams in football in the Patriots, Chargers, Ravens and Colts. And this is coming from a Bears fan that lives IN Chicago; 15 minutes from Soldier Field. The AFC is much, much better as an entire league, but hey, anyone can win the Super Bowl as it's just one game.

AFC is hands down

Postby journeyjeremy » Tue Jan 16, 2007 11:40 am

the best, its plain and simple, with the exception of the one year wherer the bucks got lucky, the last 10 years have simply been dominated by the AFC
, best QB's Peyton and BRady, best RB's , LJ,Priest,LT best defenses, Ravens, Pats,SD it is pretty obvious, oh yeah and did i mention all those AFC super bowls.
Nope i mention it right now.

As a Raiders fan, this comment is just dumb. Gruden knew what the Raiders were going to do before we knew. He played the part of Gannon in Bucs practices to a T. My Raiders never had a chance against him.

I was sure the AFC would win the SB this year, but now I am not so sure.

Very true....Excellent point...He was the QB for the two weeks leading to the game at practice.....He even said on the sideline in the NFL films of the SUper Bowl he knew exactly how Gannon wold react....That game was won before the Raiders took the field...

The Pro Bowl record couldn't be less relevant. More than half the guys who are elected, don't even show up for the game. That said, the AFC is sooooooo much better than the NFC. The only team I think could win the Super Bowl, from the NFC would be the Saints, because of Brees.

The AFC is the better conference and has been this decade. The NFC was the better conference for the 80's and 90's though. Eventually, enough of the star players migrate or get drafted to the other conference, and the NFC will probably eventually become stronger once again.

Of course, I believe if some of these teams like the Patriots or the Colts had to play in the NFC East division, they wouldn't be considered as good of a team.

The AFC has been the dominating conference for years. It did a flip flop. During the 90's, the NFC had powerhouses like the AFC does now. Ex.) Packers, Cowboys, '9ers. Now in late 90's, 00's, The AFC has dominated. (Patriots, Colts, Steelers.) Look at the Wildcard teams the past couple of years. It atleast took the AFC a manageable 10-11 wins to make the Wildcard. Not so in the NFC, only 8 wins have been able to make it for years. Last time the NFC won a SB was 5 years ago in '02. (Tampa Bay) Very weak conference as of right now. The NFL works in weird ways as no team ranked as the first seed has made it to the SB since '87. The Bears are obviously the ones in the Running right now in the NFC taking on the #2.Saints. Colts rank 3 in the AFC and Patriots rank 4. It should be a good Championship weekend.

The NFC is not much more than the AFC's Triple A affiliate. Whoever wins the AFC should smoke the Bears or Saints.

This is a pretty ridiculous argument to advance! Over the past three seasons the AFC has completely taken apart the NFC teams, in head to head games...It's not even close!!!!! I agree with an earlier posting that this sort of thing is definitely cyclical, and that the NFC will once again see a dominant period. That said, the record of the AFC versus the NFC in both the regular season and Super Bowl, over the past several years, speaks for itself!
