Virginias democratic governor.

He too, hasn't a chance in Hell.

I think he'd have a decent chance of winning the nomination, if he were interested in running. I lean more toward republicans, but I liked Warner for Virginia.

A longshot at best. Men, at least real ones, won't vote for her. When it comes to your male rank and file union members, traditionally very democratic, they won't vote for her. Even THEY'RE smarter than that. She doesn't have much of a chance. She's a poor debater and weak on issues. She lacks consistency, too.

Not Barak (sp?)? I don't know about Hillary--so many people HATE her and I don't understand why... How could anyone hate someone who tried to get us all health insurance? I never did understand that. I like Hillary, a lot; I'm just afraid that there are so many who hate her that would vote against her and then we'd end up with another Republican... Got any opinion about Hagle, by the way? Curious...

P.S. I wonder who TNC thinks will win...

The health insurance idea is fuckin' stupid. People buy automobile insurance, life insurance, etc. Buy health insurance or take your FREE public education and get a good job with a company that PROVIDES it. Seems rather simple to me. Besides, her plan was proven to NOT be feasible. Just sounded good.

St. John, why do you say stuff like "real men" wouldn't vote for Hillary? Your definition of a real man is a union guy? What in the world? The rest of your argument just went into the ditch after a comment like that-to me, anyway.

No...not at all. You misinterpreted me and I can see why. I was vague in what I said. Personally, I hate unions. The correlation was unintended.

Well to me, Obama is the most intellegent of them all. But this guy has too many skeletons. Not of his own, but the type of skeletons that his opponents will make huge. Like stupid shit about his middle name and such. His living in Indonesia. His opponents will have a field day with that. That and his inexperience. However, the man has a firm grip on reality, and I think a great vision. I like Obama.

Well, I guess that's a good reason to hate her. Who proved it wasn't feasible? All I remember is every right-wing nut came out of the woodwork and bashed her until she withdrew it. The feasibility argument seems silly to me--I read somewhere the other day that this ridiculous war would pay for the healthcare of every American for the rest of their lives. I guess you all would support Bush if he invades Iran, too....

Here's why he won't win:

Obama was a Muslim for over twenty-five years.

In his 1995 memoir, "Dreams from My Father," Obama admits to using marijuana and cocaine. At one time he ran his credit cards up so high that the credit card company denied him access to further use of his card.

He supports homosexual marriage, racial preferences, gun control, socialized medicine and the absolute right to abortion, including partial-birth abortions. He is anti-war, voted against the reauthorization of the USA Patriot Act and opposes the death penalty and school vouchers,

He has said he loves Jimmy Carter and is the 18th most liberal member of the Senate, receiving a 100% rating from Americans for Democratic Action, NARAL Pro-Choice America, National Organization for Women, the NAACP and the National Education Association.

You sound like my dad. He hates unions. I am a member of the Transport Workers Union, proudly. While I understand your disdain for their existence, you and others should understand that unions are not an enemy. I will say that unions have their downfall. Protecting workers that are lazy and such, I have the same feeling, that should never happen. What I do like about unions is that they give the average working man a chance at a decent life. This country was built on working people. I think that the average working man who puts in 40 hour work weeks should be able to afford a decent life style. Today, that isn't reality. Those who work hard in any field should be afforded a comfortable life. Isn't that what America is supposed to be and was built on? So, don't automatically hate the unions. They do good in a lot of ways, and yes they do protect some of those that don't deserve that. We are all working to change that.

St. John--sorry, your sarcasm was lost on me  since you seem to me to be kinda harsh anyway... Shoot_Em_Up (Rick?): I am pro-union, too--thanks for putting your thoughts so well about them... You live in TX, too? It seems unusual to talk with someone from TX who is pro-union... My brother hates unions yet he has a very good job due in large part to them (or so I think, he would say)... :)

Well, in my opinion, Unions are vastly misunderstood. Unions deserve some of the bad rap they've garnered, but not all. I work for an airline that has in the recent past forced concessions in pay and benefits on it's employees, me included, that were devastating financially on most of us. All the while, upper management is taking bonuses and enjoying the maturation of stock options that have since seen enormous dividends to the same. I've been with this company for 24 years and have gone from living a fairly comfortable life to wondering how I will pay the electric bill. It's just a shame. So, when I hear someone bash a union, it gets my blood boiling. If something isn't done, the few that control everything will put the 100,000 employees in this company into bankruptcy. Or those who haven't already filed.
There was a recent press statement where the CEO stated that more concessions from employees would be necessary to ensure the company's survival. All the while, which has been in the news, they are enjoying bonuses from stock options that are equvialent to the total profit that has been earned for this year.

Wow, I'm glad I'm not bitter.. :D

This wasn't Warner's year to try it Donna. I agree he would be a great president, but he wouldn't be a good candidate for this election because he hasn't had enough national exposure yet. He doesn't have the charisma of Clinton or the quirkiness of Carter to generate enough buzz about an obscure southern Governor.
