Aw dude, I just lost my lunch!

Two reasons to be happy today......

1. Happy Birthday Mr. Perry

2. Finally got my pc up and running with
visuals, I can now see and hear all that you
have been enjoying for years. :D

Thanks to my sis and bro-in law for the new
pc.......I so love it, and I love you both for being
so generous. :P

Cool, it proves he was more than just another frontman from the '80s. He's THE frontman from the '80s. :D

Well, it's 8:22 pm est time here, which means it's approxiamately 5:22 pm Pacific time in Cali (more or less). Anyway, I could be wrong, but I don't think we'll see a birthday message this year .

I'm as big a SP fan as the next, but if I don't see movement this year, i.e. an album, then I'm throwing in the towel. Tired of waiting. Life's too short.

Not that he owes us anything, but a simple yes, I'm retired or no, I'm not retired, I have still have one more album in me yet wouldn't hurt. With that said, Happy Birthday Stevie!

He owes me or you nothing, repeat ..NOTHING.., why must we act like this? He gave us years of wonderful music, what more do we need? If he can't do it or doesn't want to , cool. As long as he's happy, who cares? You guys have conditional love. If he doesn't do what I want then screw him.

I think what people want is this. As fans, and great ones at that, we spent a great deal of our lives following Journey. We did it by buying albums, t-shirts, bumper stickers, calling radio stations and most importantly putting the music made by any one of many incarnations, CLOSE to our hearts. That music was there during a lot of our important years. Many of us supported the band unconditionally. Then, the voice of many of those years and songs, disappeared. Is there a bit of selfishness in a lot of us wanting to hear Steve Perry again? Absolutely. BUT, there's a lot of love there too, and even some concern. Personally, I wish him nothing but the best, but I won't lie....my selfish side DOES want more music. Ideally, he WANTS to record again and everyone wins. And to Cyndy, I'd venture to guess that the previous poster DIDN'T put his/her life on hold waiting for him. The terms used were only meant to show just HOW MUCH he IS missed by some. Nothing more.

No, my life is NOT on hold. My words though strong are not to be taken literally. To clarify, I'll always be a fan, but I won't hold my breath thinking there will be a new album. That's all.

i agree with ole Scary Girl here,, cook or get out of the kitchen , right he owes us nothing,, BUT ,, is it so difficult to acknowldege the fan base once in a while.. and when he does, he states hes really thinking bout something OR getting ready for it ,, there is nothing wrong with a fan wanting something or more out of a performer that you have put in the legend status.. . shoot ,we all know of 4 message boards that are in existence because of him , where people talk about the old days and anayze what he has said,, cuss and fight with each other about it.. with the invention of the web.. there is no excuse an artist can dream of NOT to be close to the fans and offer up small morsals of entertainment for folks to feed off of ... whos asking more than that ? does the guy truley live in a cave? the VOICE doesnt have a recording studio in his own house? once every 2 years on a radio show talking about a garage band or taking pre-arranged questions obviously aint cutting it! i think its ok to demand a tad bit better,, we have bought the same albums in 4 different formats!! what other aritst can get away with that ? and why would they want too? ...........longest post ive ever written.... so tired...ca...n't...t..h.in..k.... 8)

I was in the mall today in the food court with my youngest (also a little SP fan) and "Faithfully" came on! Perfect! :)

And, Cyndy, wish you & Lora could've been here Sat. night - it would've been nice to finally meet you both. I wasn't able to stay & hear the guitarist you said was like channeling Stevie Ray Vaughn - the announcer described him the same way, too. Everyone had a good time...next year, maybe?
