I knew about Jeff from Yngwie's 1st two albums and the "Inspiration" album, with his cover of "Carry on Wayward Son". I wasn't familiar with his solo work, Talisman, Axel Rudi Pell, or any of his other stuff, other than Soul SirkUS, of course.

I went to Soul SirkUS, stood by Carl in fact, to see Neal. and those other guys-whatever. then Jeff opens his mouth and I sez H-E-L-L-O. he is riveting on stage, enough to turn the Schon Sistah's (since Santana) head. yowza.

he is a tremendous talent, larger than life, hard working, kind, loving and has such a gentle spirit. I am getting caught up on the immense catalog. I wish I had known sooner.

THP chica for life

What Up Deb :D
Glad to see you're fitting in to MR quite nicely!
So you're sticking with "THP Chica"?

What do you think of mine, "Sototarian"???
It does have a better ring to it than 'AugeriHead'
or 'Perryloon' and doesn't sound quite as psychopathic
as those 2

Yea, Carl, I have to. I invented it. the chica part that is.

we made Bec a chica at Loffler's. she thinks it's sweet. get the barf bag, dean. :D

It was Iron Maiden!! I first saw JSS with Yngwie on that tour in Maryland in '86.

Ah, the "Somewhere In Time" tour!

I saw Yngwie twice in the 80's, but one of the shows Marc Boals was singing, so I wasnt sure which show JSS did. Thanks for clarifying.

The Lakeland Civic Center was THE place fopr concerts in C. Fla. back in the day.
GREAT venue, awesome acoustics.

The reason for no more concerts at the LCC: The Orlando Magic's Arena and the Thunderdome in Tampa.

In keeping with this forum- Journey on the ROR tour.

As for Jeff's music. I'd heard about him on this site. and seen some of the videos on youtube. But since seeing him in July w/Journey, I've bought several of his albums/DVD's. And every one worth every penny. I've even turned my boss on to him!

BLACK SABBATH (DIO ON VOCALS - MOB RULES W/ DOC HOLLIDAY)
BLACK SABBATH (IAN GILLAN ON VOCALS - BORN AGAIN TOUR W/ NIGHT RANGER)

I only knew of him from his guest spots on the now defunct ABC Soap Opera Loving.

If I remember correctly it was his character (Hack) that broke up the love affair between Trisha Alden and Steve Solowski.
I believe it was Trisha's mom Gwnyeth who hired Hack(JSS) to do this.

It was because of this, plus the Journey thing that I went out and purchased Talisman 7.

EXCELLENT CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I first became aware of JSS when he was promoted heavily at the UK Journey convention in March last year...in fact we even got a specially recorded video message from JSS that day...

On his and also ABC(network) website.

The ABC website info is in real detail. It's got a great updated bio on Jeff including pictures with him and the cast of Loving.

There is also a 1-2 minute feature showing his character with Trisha Alden(actual soap footage).

Just link on to ABC.com and from there you can find their soap operas. Its a past soap but its easy to find.

Oh yeah Wally, it is where the TB Devil Rays play in St. Petersburg: Tropicana Field. The Lightnining now play at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. But I remember the 'dome thing' when the Lightning use to play there. Sorry, forgot all about that!

ABSOLUTELY!!

Back in my younger days I LOVED Soaps!

My rountine back then was wake up @ 11:30 am watch Loving, watch All My Children and get ready for the day, go eat lunch, head to the park catch 30 minutes of General Hospital while getting dressed, then hit the field for earlyBP.

GREAT Days back then!!

As far as the soaps went Loving was #1!!

3. General Hospital
2. All My Children- Jenny was awesome - Kim Delany was GREAT!!! I even wrote her a letter, and she sent me an autographed photo. NYPD Blue fame later.But.... she was much better as Jenny.Because of her I will never let my daughter on a Jet ski. That damn Liza.
1. Loving- Who knew this would be JSS first big gig?? If Neal would of been a bigger General Hospital fan it might of been Rick Springfield up there singing lead for Soul Sirkus. From there it would be Rick belting out Any Way You Want It. Damn Trisha was fine!!! They had another girl(Lorna Forbes?) on there who later played Elvis wife on a mini series. Awesome Actress & beautiful. Best soap ever!!!

What killed this great soap was that it was only 30 minutes. If it would of been an hour and then sandwiched between AMC and GH it would of made it. At any rate Jeff was pretty good on it.

Boy did I SCREW up!!!!

It was Steve Augeri that appeared as Trisha Aldens hired boyfriend (Hack) on the now defunct ABC soap opera Loving.

I know from the PM's I received that alot of you spent time trying to research JSS ties to the show. For this I apologize because I realize how valuable your time is.

It was just a mistake. Its a mistake that I now must own up to.

In my defense I must add this was kind of a easy mistake to make being so many different people have fronted the band in the past year.

My apologies to to you and also to Steve Augeri who did such a great job playing Hack on Loving.

I guess Steve A. is just the type of person that people confuse. First his band mates try to pass him off as the second coming of Steve Perry, and then I confuse his and Jeff Scott Soto for their acting prowess.

Lastly, Jeff Scott Soto did appear on two episodes of Barnaby Jones and he also played Mannix's secretarys little boy.

I'm sorry!!!

Every year, here in the UK we have a mini festival called Firefest (used to be the Gods festival) - all AOR bands, normally either big in their own country, up and coming or 80s bands on the nostalgia wave. I've been going since about 2001, usually only know a few of the 6 or 7 bands that are on the bill, but its a good way to discover new acts or acts i missed first time round. Jeff was on the bill one year and owned the stage from the minute he walked on - I'd never heard of him before then.

I've seen a couple of Jeffs solo shows (including one memorable show in the Cavern at Liverpool on Jeffs birthday where Howie had had way too much vodka) and 2 SoulSirkus shows in the UK since... Jeff's a class act.

Believe it or not, a playstation video game called Biker Mice From Mars introduced me to JSS !! My brother was a huge fan of the game and got the soundtrack music to listen to in his car.JSS does the vocals on this soundtrack.

A year or two later I saw a Talisman video(I don't remember the song) and told my brother that the" Biker Mice Guy" was in a band and sounded pretty good...lol. I remembered the Talisman name and bought Cats and Dogs when it came out and have been a fan ever since !!! :D

Soul Sirkus was how I first heard of JSS. Wasn't impressed with the cd, did like the singing. Saw live in Nashville, l really liked the show. Now have several boots with Jeff in Journey and others. Have both Soul Sirkus, Tailsman 7, JSS-Ballads, Prism, Lost in Translation, And Love Parade, plus a cd of what ever I could find on the Internet-ERIC
