You said it. Perry, hands down. Course, I'd make him sign the contract in blood.

Why cringe? That was a wonderful album. Shit, everyone on this board got wet or a boner when they added IBAWY to the setlist last tour. BGTY has been a staple for quite some time and Girl Can't Help It was a hit. Personally, I like Why Can't This Night Go On Forever the most. I'm done cringing. I did enough of that over the last 8 years.

I'm TORN. I just found JSS, LOVE his music, but my heart is loyal to Perry. I've seen both in Concert, and I had alot more fun at the concert with JSS, but, I was in such awe of Perry when I saw him because he is THE voice. He has been someone I've admired for years but have not had the pleasure of meeting. I did get to talk with JSS, which made the concert for me more enjoyable...felt like a proud sister down there watching him!
But going back to the Perry-Soto thing....I think I'de like to see him just once more with Journey, just once for old times sake, of course I'm am old fashioned and sentimental romantic nut!
I will always adore Perry over any musician, but JSS is right up next to him! Tough pick!

I guess I really shouldn't be too hard on Raised On Radio.I think there are some great songs on it and not a bad song among the bunch.

My beef with ROR is that it stayed in the same musical vain for 99% of the release. What I love about Journey is that they can rock the house on one song and bury you with love on the next.It just seemed to me that the band was on a musical cruise control and seemed afraid to vary from that.

The band has been able to take the listener on a musical journey from one end of the musical spectrum to the other and make some interesting pit stops along the way...and do it all on the same release.

To me, ROR was just a series of destinations....not a journey.

I will say that I think ROR would have made a killer Steve Perry solo release!!

Personally I would follow both their music...Yes I would love to see Perry with Journey just once but that isn't likely to happen...........And right now as far as I'm concern Journey needs Jeff allot more that Jeff needs Journey.....so if Perry ever came back Jeff could just jump back to a solo career with ease...........Just My Opinion of course

himself. jss is more of team player, it appears and would be more than willing to roll for a long time, and give the fans some new memories! 8)

I agree. I love ROR. I also love "Frontiers." I know a lot of people who don't, but his voice whether soaring to the rafters or hovering sweet and low is distinctive. Definately not cookie cutter ala, AI.

My favorite tracks from those albums are Girl Can't Help It, I'll Be Alright, Send Her My Love, Edge of The Blade, and Troubled Child. Rubicon is pretty awesome too.

I just do not get all the "loyalty" towards Steve Perry. What has he done for Journey fans in the past ten years? Showed up at the Walk of Fame ceremony, sang DSB for a baseball team. What else???? It is like being loyal to the wife I divorced about ten years ago or so. Sure we had some great times. but, it did not work out. Time to move on.

I NEVER cringe while thinking of Raised On Radio.

Well, not unless Randy Jaxson, the Gold's Gym (fuckin HA!) shirt and the pink polka bass break through my mental firewall.
