Yes, I saw that tear running down his cheek. I hope some of those people who said he couldn't get out his comfort zone on AI saw this. This kid has some great pipes.

I finally got to hear it. He did it good. I wish he'd have left out some of the runs, but otherwise, really good.
Yeah, Taylor Hicks... sorry, but that guy is just nothing special to me as a vocalist.
One of the best national anthems I heard was from another idol person, Carrie Underwood
Last year she sang it somewhere and it was realy pure and just good.

Has Clarkson done one? Is it up on the Tube? Kelly's very cool. I think that she and Daughtry
are the best things to come out of Idol. That and Paula's open stoned-ness !

Yes, Carrie Underwood did do a great job on it. I haven't heard any other AI people do it though. Kelly Clarkson would probably do it even better than Carrie Underwood.

I think Chris put too many runs in it too, but the quality of his voice in undenialble after that performance.

I had to sing it once at a horse track. The friggin' echo from where I was at to the seats was SOOOOO weird... oy! For people doing it in stadiums, it must suck. In ears would be great for that.

Most of the named people who do it prerecord it and lip synch to it. Maybe the echo is one of the reasons. Chris was doing it live though, that was obvious.

Speaking of Carrie Underwood...

Postby roknroseville » Tue Jan 23, 2007 9:37 am

Just read that Carrie Underwood has the best selling cd of the new millenium for female country artist.. over 5 million cds sold.....

My wife was a big Bo Bice fan... He had the whole southern rock thing on his side then releases the real thing crappy pop cd...
he only co wrote 2 songs on the cd & let nickelback , bon jovi do all the work for him ( just like Taylor Hicks only 2 co writes on his cd )
At least Chris Daughtry wrote or co wrote 10 of the 12 tunes on his cd.

Good for him - I had never watched Idol before & when I tuned in last season & caught this guy I was floored...great voice & charisma, too.
And, only singers should sing the NA...who can forget Roseanne?!!
