OT: 4 All U Guitar Freaks

This guy put together a video...and now a volume 2... of his choices for some of the worlds greatest guitarists. Admittedly, he says the list is too long for a video...but...who would you suggest be added ( like Schon ) or taken away?....and why? What aspect of playing is the most important to you?...( for example...speed...technique..tricks...soulfullness...etc. etc.) What makes a guitar player great?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiEXWA9ISbo&NR[u]
Vol 1
Steve Vai
Micheal Batio ( 2 handed  )
Zakk Wylde
Stevie Ray Vaughn ( behind the back! )
John Pettrucci
Eddie Van Halen
Yngwie Malmsteen
Dimebag Darrel

Vol 2
Slash
Shawn Lane
Buckethead (...not familiar with this one...whats with the mask and the KFC bucket on his head? Who is he??)
Kirk Hammel
Jimmy Page
Jimmy Hendrix

( these arent my picks, although some would be, its whos in the videos.......I would start by adding Joe Satriani and Neil Zaza...to name a few) 8)

wow that was cool,, but the guy who put these together should have titled them as Worlds Best ROCK Guitarists, joe pass, al dimeola and larry carlton and a host of dudes playin in cafes in Spain would smoke most of our heroes.. i love fast rockin guitar,, everything on these was cool with the exception of micheal angelo , yea, we get it enough, , these guys have spent an incredible amount of time practicing and playing to be this good and setting the standard,, but the real key is whos getting and listening to the music,, thats why srv, neal and eddie were always different from the crowd, because they are song writers AND top notch guitar players,, and example is : who is Sheryl Crow's guitar player? most dont know , and dont care,, because SHE writes the songs,, you have to write good songs to put that groovy guitar solo in.. 15 min. of one guy standing in a spotlight moving his fingers a hundred miles an hour while pinching a harmonic and pulling the wham bar back aint gonna do it for most,, yes, dazzle us,, then sing us something.. btw.. has jimmy page ever played in tune live??? wow..

Great videos. I saw Steve Vai a couple of months ago while he was touring with Dweezil Zappa. Unbelievable performer, and IMO, he seems to get better as time goes by. I never tire of listening to Vai. Stevie Ray is a timeless performer. Other favorites from these are John Petrucci, Jimmy Page, Slash and Kirk Hammett.

I don't know much about Buckethead other than the fact that they are truly weird. The bass player and lead vocalist is Lemmy Kilmeister, I believe and the guitarist is Phil Campbel(?). Not 100% sure if that's his name. I don't have a clue why they wear the KFC buckets, but I guess the Colonel gets free advertising out of it!

Thanks for posting these. Someone did a great job of putting it all together. And, yes, I agree Satch should be on this list!

Oh, they are the real deal. I just can't take my eyes off those KFC buckets, though.

His Country picking is a kinda amateurish...Not denying his talent, but the sweep picked arpegios is where the guy makes his bread.

Brad Paisley, Danny Gatton, Brett Mason...now THOSE guys can tear it up...
