Metal Tribute CD - Journey

Postby Rawbean » Mon Jan 29, 2007 11:34 am

Apologize in advance if this has already been posted; if so, please ignore...Evidently, this was recently released back in October, just discovered it....not sure if I'm diggin' the covers, overall sound on most songs doesn't come across well-produced IMO, I'm no expert....

Again, hope I didn't duplicate - haven't posted in a while.....

It was posted some time back - but that's ok. This verson is a re-release of the original release from 2001/2002, but with a few new tunes replacing some old ones.

Both versions suck for the most part - but a few highlights like Kelly Hansen.

Gotcha - I agree Andrew, really disappointing.... Usually I'm pretty good with metal band trivia but for the life of me, can't recall who Kelly Hansen is?

Kelly Hansen is the guy who was brought into Foreigner to replace Lou Gramm. I believe that prior to his stint with Foreigner that he was in Winger, or some band along those lines!

John from Boston

p.s. I'm with Andrew on this. I made the mistake of purchasing this CD, and it is AWFUL! I couldnt get through the first verse of most of the songs!

I picked up this CD last month at Rasputin Music in San Francisco. I'd never seen or heard of it before. What a disappointment!

Speaking of Tommy Shaw, when is he gonna get a Damn Yankees reunion going? Would love to see those guys live.

Not this year. But do check out the awesome Shaw/Blades covers CD. One of the few great covers CDs I have heard. Very sweet!

I did, and although I think it's actually pretty good, I also think that great artists should be the "coverees" not the "coverers."

Yea, like Journey last year!
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

that's cool but just say no to country. ewwww

I gotta say it soul brothah, you are just about the most well rounded singer around.

In this order for me,
Metal
Soul
Rock
Ballads
Pop

skip country and disco.

how about a little latin???
