I've been casually following the JFs (lurking if you will) just to
see how it was gonna turn out.
Hell, I LOVE talking about this band and will do whenever I cn.
But the way things have transpired over the past week or 2
have really went downhill for that site.

I recognize alot of the names over there; exiles from here,
big fans of Mr Augeri's that need a place to vent in the
colorful manner that they hated to see at BT...

Maybe they should just re-name the place. There really isn't much "Journey"
talk going on anymore. How about "The Witchhunt Forums"?
Hell, call it "The X-Files" since there are som many conspiracy theories floating
around there now about Dean-this, Dean-that, Lula's-a-this, Jeff's-a-that...

The guy had 18 posts! Yesterday he crossed the line. What are people's expectations? What, exactly, is allowed there that is so over the top in your opinion? Is it just that there a some who don't think JSS is right for Journey? Should that not be allowed?

I went there looking for that exact thing, and it started out just fine. Now though, TJF looks as hostile to me as MR must have looked to BTers at the height of Tapegate. It became very disappointing to me. That kind of hostility isn't good on any board, but it's seems that while MR is recovering after our storm, TJF is building thunderheads and trying to blow another one in our direction.

Sorry Frank and Michael, you started out on the right track but somewhere along the way your Journey train derailed, and Dean wasn't the one driving.

I disagree. Sure, there are a few people there that seem to have it in for the band and specifically JSS, in one section of the forum, but I think it's too much of a generalisation to say the tone of the board is anti-JSS. You could just as easily say that this board is made up entirely of Augeri haters. You and I both know that's not true, but the views of the most vocal posters on a board tend to distort everybody's view of the tone of the board.

I'm one of Jeff's biggest advocates and I'm comfortable posting over on TJF, as are many others. In the first couple of weeks there I saw more truly intelligent discussion about Journey than I have in months over here. I agree it has deteriorated recently, due to the actions of perhaps half a dozen individuals, and the attacks on JSS by those individuals are completely inexcusable. It will be interesting to see how the mods there handle that.

Who are you to say that people are not pro Journey? Journey allowed themselves to get into an ugly mess and handled it badly. People are allowed to feel something about that and talk about it. That is how healiing takes place. Part of the reason these same discussions go on and on and on is because Journey is dormant right now, and there is nothing new to talk about. There are several other forums besides the Line of Fire forum and Journey fans all around if you care to look.

It is as dysfunctional and mentally ill a fanbase as anything in the world that HAS a fanbase.
Band members past and present must look upon the vocal online fanbase with a mixture of bemusement and outright horror.

Bullseye. The band is still a functioning unit playing their hits and making new music. I just see people who constantly need to bash JSS or Augeri as anti-Journey, pro-singer. I have no problem with criticism when it is presented the right way. You can tell who the people are who feed off of negativity.

If you don't like JSS, fine. Goodbye. Don't let the door hit ya.
