Pompano Beach Show

Postby mgstar1964 » Thu Feb 01, 2007 4:44 am

Hello all,

This is my first post ... longtime reader (1998-present - visit almsot every day here), diehard Journey fan ... I just registered here recently, so I'd like to get more involved in the forums ...

I live in South Florida / Ft. Lauderdale area ... I'm looking forward to the get-togethers for the shows, and I'll be attending the Pompano Beach show ... I'd love to get together w/ fellow Journey fanatics like myself (1986 - present) ... This will be my 13th Journey concert and counting ! I know a lot of you are coming into town from other areas ... if anyone still needs assistance with hotels in the area, as well as other points of interest, please feel free to email me privately, I'd be more than happy to help in whatever way I can ...

My email address is: mgstar1964@aol.com

I am VERRYY excited about Jeff being in the band now, and I'm just so glad that everything from the past year is behind us, as of Dec. 19th, 2006 !

I hope to hear from a bunch of you, and we can all perhaps arrange a get-together either before or after the show.

Zino, I'd love to visit your restaurant - feel free to email me privately, or PM me, and I'll definitely stop in ... I live in Hollywood ...

Regards,

Michael

I'm sure there will be pre-show get togethers. A lot of us coming in from Clearwater just don't know yet what time we'll be arriving in Pompano Beach. That's a 4 or 5 hour ride from what I understand - correct?

It is worth it too. We did this for the Ryche show a couple years ago and the regular admission line could get mighty lengthy. 8) I believe as long as you eat there at some point during the day of the show, they will let you in early. No reservations will be necessary, I will call and confirm that tomorrow.

I also know that in the past cameras have been a pain in the ass at this venue. :x

AR.. it's about a 4 1/2 hour drive from Clearwater to Pompano Beach.

Not politics, over-analyzing every little nuance, and complaining about everything. Lets just go fucking rock out and have a blast. I haven't had a vacation in almost 6 years, so it's time to blow off some steam and see Florida for the first time.

Looking forward to seeing some old friends from the Baltimore bash, and meeting some new ones as well.

Lets set the tone now.

See ya there!

AR,

Hi, my name is Michael and I live in Hollywood, FL, nearby to Pompano Beach. If you or anyone else on this board need assistance with hotels, finding properties in the area, hotel discount guides, or recommendations / suggestions on where to stay and hang out, please feel free to email me privately.

If you also email me w/ your cell #s, I will give you all mine, and then people can connect - hopefully, set up a central time / place to meet and greet, hang out w/ each other, discuss our favorite band in the land, etc. - either before or after the shows.

Yes, its about 4 - 4 1/2 hrs. drive from Clearwater to Ft. Lauderdale.

I had the pleasure of seeing Journey on their 1st SA tour in Nov. 1998 at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, as well as Art Garfunkel in Jan. 1999, as I used to live over in that area.

There is not a bad seat in the house there - excellent acoustics and sightlines at Ruth Eckerd. Same for Pompano, really.

Here's my personal email: mgstar1964@aol.com

I hope to hear from you and others regarding this show, connecting in person, etc.

Have a great day, all !

Regards,

Michael

Where are you guys satying for the Pompano Show ?

I'm not sure. dcvader made all the arrangements. Had it all in my PM's but I accidentally deleted it.

Best Western Oakland Park is the Pompano hotel. There are a shit load of peeps staying there too, I think.

Castles Burning aside (Yuck), we need to make sure we have a huge cooler in the room with beer iced down at all times. Thinking if I make a couple extra copies of the DVD, we can help keep the hotel room stocked each day/night.
