So all you Florida bound people going to see Journey on Friday...

I am going to be absent...hold your applause.

I have decided to go see Stevie Nicks in Tampa on Friday Night instead. I have never seen her or Fleetwood Mac, and can't pass up the opportunity. We can still meet up afterwards though.

Anyone know where the actually Party will be?

I like Stevie Nicks as a songwriter, and love Fleetwood Mac, but never could motivate myself to pay the big bucks for one of her solo shows.

I did see Lindsey Buckingham's tour last year and it was f'ing amazing, but he's also the real musical genius of the band.

Anyways, have fun Deano...I'm curious to know if she's still got it, I'm not sure how well her voice has held up the last few years.

Saw her on the SB Pregame show. All Stevie ever does is play with her dress and twirl. She's NOT a good live singer either. Not flat or anything, just not exciting and I like her solo albums and Mac albums quite a bit. Her voice live seems lower than it's recorded and she doesn't have that delicate voice live. I saw the Fleetwood Mac reunion tour and was similarly unimpressed. However, Lindsey's a great guitarist and Christine McVie was always good though a bit wooden too.

Sorry, but she's dull with a capital D.
Maybe she will be different this time.
Good luck.

She has definitely still got it. She sang a few songs with Tom Petty on his most recent tour. I saw it in Houston last August and she sounded great. She is getting older and her voice is not as high but she was still amazing. The standing ovation she got before and after she came on stage was appalling, 16,000 people screaming their asses off for her.

we saw her with tom also this last summer. my friends daughter went with us. tom introduced her
as his little sis. after the concert, abby (daughter) said "i didn't know that tom petty had a little sister!" well, she is shorter. we now feel the need to
introduce her into the fleetwood mac world. she's only 18!

Definitely introduce her to Fleetwood Mac even her solo material. How did she sound to you? I was a little disappointed when Tom said she was going to be singing lead on “I Need To Know” but she rocked that song I loved it.

A lot of people don't know about that duet song between them. That one was buried at the end of his Hard Promises record. Everybody knows “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” though, that was another highlight of the night.

And at least, like Prince, it was truly LIVE...
Joel didn't even have any in-ear monitors on
so he wasn't even playing to a click-track.
Just him, his piano and a monitor for him to
better hear himself...

It wasn't perfect but it was pretty damn good IMO.

Yep, it was just the piano man doing his thing. I've heard better, but I've heard a hell of a lot worse too.

Deano,

You are making a mistake. I've seen her live twice and she is NOT a good live performer. Fleetwood Mac is decent. Stevie solo is not very good. She tries to act like an angel or butterfly or some shi t with all of her twirling.

Her live singing is also not the greatest. It is actually not very good. She is MUCH MUCH better when the studio finishes up her vocals.

You claim to love 'Journey' and Soto. If it was me, I would DEFINATELY be at the Journey show. It will be TWO to TEN times better.

You wont like her near as much after seeing her live. Average singing + a boring twirl a thon show.

I'd miss one out of three Journey shows for a Nicks show. She's a legend, IMO. Only seen her with FM, tho.

Stevie Nicks is just okay...... We saw here in 1980's it was more about changing clothes than the music, maybe its different these days as she is 20 years older now! But think Cher without the gay guys in the audience...

I rather think if RockNDeano goes to the lengths he does over Journey, he must mean it.

Ive been reading his posts for eons. His passion for Journey is legendary.

Still, wouldnt supprise me in the least if within the next 12 months he started posting that at one time he rode the high seas on Noha's Ark, undercover, posing as a six legged octopus.
