I don't see how these communities keep functioning(not you Jetster ). ON those few occasions when we've gotten over a foot around here the businesses take an economic hit.

Well, in St. Louis today all the schools are closed and there hasn't been a single flake of snow yet. I think all the powers that be got scared by the weather people's ominous warnings of 2". Losers. So that means that my wife and kids are at home having fun and I'm stuck here at work.

According to last night's forcast we were supposed to start getting a snow/freezing rain mix of some kind starting last night and going into tomorrow morning. Nothing yet and their hedging a little bit on the forcast now. They don't seem to know what's going to happen.

I hope nothing happens. If they close the schools I'll have to keep the grandkids and I have a nasty virus right now.

Belar--I'm in northern IL. We have blizzard conditions right now, and my daughter is getting ready for school! The school district just suggested that parents drive instead of having kids wait by the bus stop. My daughter is a walker, so we're going to bundle up and head out the door shortly. I think they didn't close because we're only supposed to get about 4" of snow today. It's the wind that's making things really unpleasant. Supposedly things are worse south of here (south suburbs of Chicago), so a lot of those schools are closed.

Well, be careful and stay warm! It's just weird because the schools hardly EVER close here, and when they do, it's when we have 8 or 10 inches of snow. Closing before anything has happened is just bizarre.

That's more snow than we'd get here in Indiana in about 6 or 7 years total.

Well we don't even get any rain down here in Texas, our lakes and rivers are all drying up and we are going to be on water rationing AGAIN this summer, its sad...we can't even water our yards. Its a trade off no matter where ya live I guess.

steveforever.....
We have to water ration here in the
summer on the really hot humid days.
I'm sure it get's real dry in Texas in the
summer months, here we usually get
a few nice thunderstorms and that's always
cool, I just can't deal with the winter I hate
it so much, anyone wanna know how many
more days until camping season?
97......Camping season starts on the
May two four weekend here. 8)

I live 1 1/2 hours from STL and we are at 36 degrees and no snow in the forcast. I live in this litttle area that just misses all the bad weather. All the little towns around us get hit hard with snow, tornados, etc and we don't get any of it. I've lived here for 5 years now and only had one decent snow.

I heard this morning that Indiana got hit bad with a snowstorm. The news was saying if you didn't have to go out, don't. They even showed hail, which is a problem for them.

Here in California, we just got done with some rainstorms, which were badly needed here.

Well it's nice to see some folks getting what
they need.
I am dreading to see how much we actually get.
Yesterday they were saying 6-8 inches this afternoon.
It's yet to start it's descend.
Now it looks like it's gonna start this evening.
Keep procrastinating round these parts Mr Frost.
I like when you say your coming and don't
show up...........
3 hrs till sledding with the kids.....Ughhhhhh!

Those pictures are just unbelievable!!!! Where the heck to you put all that snow??? And what will happen if they get a drastic warm up? We had a foot of snow in December followed by a few cold days, then it all melted in 24 hours. Our basement took on water. No fun.
