Should Journey keep Opened the Door in the set list?

Hell yes! Some of the best Journey tunes are the more obscure ones!

Opened the Door

Postby RossValoryRocks » Wed Feb 14, 2007 11:07 am

Ok...I love the song...and Jeff kicks ass singing it I would love if they kept it but being realistic probably 1 out of 10 people at the shows know the song. So what does everyone else think? Should Journey keep it in the set list?

Personally I want them to keep it, but like many of you I know the whole Journey catalog so ALL of it rocks as far as I am concerned!

hellz yeah! i also think they should add more obscure journey tunes... like troubled child, easy to fall, raised on radio, happy to give, don't be down on me baby (i'm really liking this song & i really believe jss could do beautiful things here... it has a bluesy sound to it & i love that)... the list is too long! }=C))

Rotate it and AS MANY JOURNEY SONGS AS POSSIBLE in and out all the time.

Right there with you on this one RVR - Jeff has mentioned that this is one of the most difficult to sing but he can pull it off. Last note's a killer

I'd rather hear a different hidden gem that "Opened the Door". It's a good song but there are better ones that don't get played that often.

Who's Crying Now should be in the set just because of the guitar solo if for no other reason.

Other songs I would rather hear:

Hopelessly in Love, Castle's Burning.

Journey tunes

Postby tupchurch » Wed Feb 14, 2007 11:54 pm

I think they should play as many songs from the catalog as possible. They have never done Destiny. Little Girl once that we know of. But they need to play Troubled Child, Sweet and Simple, Easy to Fall, Colors of the Spirit, Forever in Blue, and Why Can't This Night Go On Forever (which is the perfect song to end a concert with IMO!)

Yes, definitely rotating less known songs in and out with the dirty dozen. They have to be mixed up or they kill the majority of the crowd. Clearwater was a completely different set list than Orlando. That's how it should always be even on a real tour! Loved "Opened the Door"! JSS nailed it and hope I'll get to hear that live again someday!

Dude, they SO should do that.
Logistics would be tough with the sax, maybe you could program into Cain's keytar and let him hit it but I'd like them to roll PT, Once You Love Somebody, and It Could Have Been You ALL out.
