There's a little joint in Fells Point (Baltimore) called Brick Oven Pizza (BOP). Also outstanding, especially when the bars close at 2 a.m. :P AR and sting would probably agree.


Ate there tons of times....excellent pizza and so is the rest of their Italian food...lived 15 minutes from there for a very long time...

i agree! they have the best pizza... hard to eat more then one slice. even though you really want to because it's just too good! there's a place out of arizona that is really really good... oregano's. very yummy. they have pizookies too! }:CPP

I grew up in the pizza capitol of the U.S., Chicago and they have the best! Moved to So Cal years ago and pizza here sucks - have never found a great pizza place. The hot dogs here also were awful, then I gave up beef anyway...but, they built a Portillo's near Disneyland last year & my sisters & I had to go (it's their fave hot dog/beef sandwich place from Chicagoland).
Sometimes when I'm feeling seriously deprived, I do order from Lou Malnati's Pizza in Chicago to FedEx pizza in dry ice - expensive, 'tho. It does seem not to be as good when frozen and over the years it doesn't seem as great. Other than that I only buy frozen Trader Joe's pizzas for a fix. I was just remembering a childhood friend's tiny Italian grandmother, she reminded me of Minnie Mouse, in Chicago who made authentic homemade pizza...mmmm....she was constantly pushing food on us. Thank god for that family or I would've starved to death.

Well I made the pizza. Deep dish with pepperoni, mushroons, olives, peppers, onions, parmesian, romano, provalone, mozzerella, homemade tomato sauce on crust made from scratch. I've already got heartburn, but it was worth it. :? :D

I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

BTW, I have a cook book called, "The Great Chicago Style Pizza" that has a list of some of the great pizza restaurants (some already mentioned here)...don't know if they still exist, but here's the list:

I'd love to have that book. Is it still available? Pizza is my favorite food. I think I could live on it three meals a day everyday. :D

I like pizza DONE. Cheese slightly burned on top. Crispy crust, no dripping. Nothing worse than a pizza not fully cooked and it happens a lot.
