WHAT DO YOU GUYS REALLY THINK?

Postby Knuclebones03 » Tue Feb 20, 2007 4:28 am

Just wondering what you guys really think about the VH reunion.
I personally think its going to be a great concert tour and they will surprise everyone on how good they are LIVE. Im a big Classic Van Halen fan and I know some here are not . But I am looking forward to the show . DLR has not let me down Live back in the day and recently and I dont expect them to start now. Later

I seen DLR twice. First time on the Diver Down Tour and on th Sam and Dave Tour. He really was'nt that good. On the Sam and Dave tour he used a couple of the same stupid lines that he used back on the Diver Down tour. He had to hide behind a stack of speakers every couple of minutes so he could huff and puff to catch his breath. All in all I thought he was bad.

I could give a shit about Eddie and Alex, but I'm really pulling for Dave. I'd love to see him come out and be great...unfortunately, I just don't think it's gonna happen. Dave has not really been able to bring it live for quite some time...But dammit...I'M PULLIN FOR IT!!!!

Meanwhile...I predict Eddie will drink alot, play sloppy, start a few fist fights, and generally make an ass of himself whenever he gets the chance...

I won't be going to see this tour - it doesn't interest me in anyway. I've seen DLR 4 times post Van Halen:

Skyscraper - Damn good show, Posion opened up.
A 'Lil Ain't Enough - Kinda lame, boring. Too much 'blah' and not enough substance.
Your Filthy Little Mouth - Horrible, a weak band, a horrible voice.
Sam & Dave Tour - Worse than YFLM, tired, going through the motions. His stupid katana bit was lame.

HOWEVER - this is something that people have been wanting for awhile (I'm not one of them). I want it to be killer, I want to believe that Dave can still do it, but he's 1 for 4 in the awesome show department. As for Eddie, Al and Wolfgang - perhaps the fact that they are family might make that core group strong. I saw that '04 VH tour three times, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Auburn Hills and Eddie didn't seem to be too bad - there were a few sour notes here and there but nothing to bad.

My $0.02 worth.
Oww. My aching tentacles.

I'll be as close to the stage as possible at as many shows as I can afford. I was born too late (or discovered the mighty VH too late) to see a DLR-fronted VH show, so this is a momentous occasion. I'll definitely be missing Mike Anthony! But, the world and I can't wait forever to see a DLR-fronted Van Halen! :D
