That's a lot of reading - thanks for the info. Although, this bothers me:

"Journey...yeah, let's get straight to the biggie! You all know that the anticipation and expectation behind a new studio album is going to be huge. In fact, bigger than huge. But we'll have to wait for early 2008 for this I think. First up the band have another idea. This is not yet set in stone, but there is an idea to get together before mid-year and re-record some of the band's classic songs. Yes, you read correctly. 2 new Journey albums in the pipeline if this idea comes to fruition, although at this stage it is not yet guaranteed. As with everything to do with the band's back catalogue of tunes, Steve Perry must first sign off on this idea.
As stated earlier in this feature, the re-recording one's hit songs (especially with a new singer) will trigger debate among fans, but I have heard Jeff record 4 classic Journey tracks in the studio himself and he really sounds fantastic and very much at home, so I have no reason to doubt this record will be amazing and a fresh and interesting alternative to the originals (which obviously will never be replaced or overtaken).
The on to that all-new studio album - the one everyone is waiting for. Will it be released this year? Not if the re-recorded hits album comes together. The new album should be recorded later this year, but will likely be held over for an early 2008 release. We'll know more about this by mid-year.

The fans long for a true classic and the band (with new frontman Jeff Scott Soto) knows they must deliver a classic. I have no doubt this could be the band's best release since the 80s.
I don't want to hear any talk of Soul Sirkus, the guys know what fans want to hear. It will be a true Journey album without doubt."

I don't see the reason to re-record the Classics...why? I like JSS and all, but I know for a fact I will not buy any re-recorded songs that Steve Perry already perfectly did. They would not have the same feeling for me so why bother? I certainly don't mind hearing JSS sing them in concert, but re-recording them? I don't think so. This is this fan's opinion.

BTW, that D.H. person is seriously deranged!!

If Perry agree to this, it will be all about the money and I will be very disappointed with him. If the fans are tired of hearing the dirty dozen at the concerts, why go this route when everyone wants what they consider the promise of a new kickass sound from JSS. Where's the pride in covering songs that others worked so hard at creating and making hits?

I have serious doubts about the re-recording idea.I just don't see SP agreeing with that.
I mean, after all the tremendous effort he made in preserving and bringing back to life the original classic material,I honestly doubt he would be willing to officially change that.

IMO,the BEST thing that Journey can do right now,is to leave the past in the past and focus on the future.Brand new songs,a fresh start.

I just posted on this in the thread about remastering the GH. I won't repeat it all, but I think rerecording the classics is a bad idea. I think it will just strenghten the perception of them as a nostalgia band rather than helping them move forward. Maybe one or two of the lesser known album cuts that Jeff does so well, and even some of his previous work that has a Journey sound along with new stuff, but not just a rehash of all the classics.

Also like a couple others have said, Steve would have to approve it and that doesn't really seem likely.

This was posted at the other site by JourneyTroll. The image of Andrew in a cheerleader outfit had me LMAO.

Fake Andrew names JoeyDelight 2006 Dickhead of the year
Andrew McTwerp has just listed the best and worst of 2006 on his MR site. Naturally, he had to include the 2006 Dickhead of the Year award. He gave it to Joeydelight/Joe Reardon although he didn't mention his name. Instead, he listed about fifteen of Joeydelight's emails to him.

One of the emails was actually from me:

5) Could I at LEAST have the chance to read the forum boards? Thanks Andrew.

I should have been considered for the award because I have put down wimpy Andrew for several months in 2006 because of his overt favoritism towards he pal posters.

McPhoney claimed he didn't want anymore feuds between the boards. He told his uneducated posters to not even mention the Journey Forums or the people that post here. This is just another example of the talentless journalist and moderator lying to everyone.

Face it. Andrew and Drunko should have won the DICKHEAD of the Year award in 2006 for the following reasons:

Andrew

1. He conducted an insipid Journey interview at one of the band member's place. The only thing that might not have been missing was Andrew wearing a cheerleaders skirt during the interview.

2. Not only was the interview pure garbage, it had multiple misspellings and other errors.

3. Andrew let Drunko proofread the interview. Naturally, big-mouth bragged to others that he saw the interview before almost everyone else. Nice job, idiot.

4. Andrew would join in and put you down while others were trashing you.

5. Andrew allowed Drunko to wish AIDS on me and many others on his site.

6. When I shared with people on the MR site, that I was getting married in the spring of 2006, Andrew stated that my post wasn't appropriate for the Journey section. Yet, he allowed so many other off-topic threads on his site during 2006. Yet, another example of overt favoritism.

7. Andrew allowed Drunko to post he wanted to rape my wife in a broom closet during the reception. Sorry, Drunko she doesn't like trailer trash like your pregnant girlfriend does.

8. Andrew gave multiple "farewell" announcements on his board, yet he always came back. One of them was within hours of the farewell. What a flip flopper!!!

9. Andrew called some of the people during their Journey party because he knew JSS would be there.

10. Andrew listed parts of Joeydelight's emails, yet he is too chicken to list Drunko's emails and PMs. I could only imagine the vacuous garbage that was spewed by that braindead slob.

11. AR created a Journey Annex because he knows Andrew's site won't last. The expenses far exceed the revenues even after Andrew whimpered to the members for a handout.

Rock'nFatboy

1. Wished cancer, AIDS, and death on me and many others multiple times.

2. Drunko has called most of the women and men on the site every degrading term possible. Yes, I have called some of them fat. Big difference.

3. Drunk & Fatboy claimed he was pals with JSS. I'm glad JSS set everyone straight that they aren't friends on this site.

4. Drunko refuses to attend anger management classes. He even promised to be nicer. Another lie by the real Dickhead.

5. Drunko has had over 2000 posts deleted by Andrew on his site. (I bet those would have made him a better choice as Dickhead of the Year.)

6. Fatboy kept bragging how he caused Steve Augeri to leave the band. Trust me, 99.9% of the world doesn't care.

7. Fatboy has the stupidest avatar on the site. However, the turd does look like ugly Dorko.

8. Drunko got his girlfriend pregnant and refuses to marry her. How to you spell illegitimate, Dickhead?

9. Drunko needs to get drunk during concerts to have a good time.

10. Windbag has cried to Andrew how sorry he is for being a fool and clown on his site, yet he will never change. Let's see fatboys emails posted on your site, McMoron!!!

Andrew started this with his Dickhead of the Year award. This thread should stay so others can see that Andrew and Fatboy Drunko are the real Dickheads of 2006 and beyond.

Thanks,
Journeytroll

It is disappointing to see that over there and I also see that the MR bashing thread has been re-opened after 10 days being closed.

The fact is that this has nothing to do with the other forum at all. Not one bit. It is all to do with exposing the threats and the abuse that this one person (with at least 2 personalities) has unleashed on me. The fact they are given free reign elsewhere to continue their adgenda is neither here nor there.

I just wanted to show people the true colours of this person.

I am not alone in being attacked by this clown. People should be aware of what they are getting into if they get on his wrong side.

I for one really think that it's a bad call to post all those e-mails and pm's in your years end. I thought so last year also. It's makes him want to excel, imo. If we all were to post the abusive posts, pm's and e-mails that many of us have received here, yours would look like childs play.

I have no idea of any issues that weren't already closed and dealt with.

As far as the DH award - peple should be aware of what they are getting themselves into if dealing with that person. I have no doubt it will continue on into this year, after all, it has been going on 3 years now, but I will say that I have had my final say on this clown.
Any further awards or talk of him will no doubt only blow out his ego further.

If you are recieveing PMs of an abusive nature, then I would request you make me aware of that, so I can disable the PM function for the prsn that sent such abuse.

Just because it's not plain to see on this board, does not mean I want it happening. So if anyone has such complaints, let me know.
