I just took it from Jeff's website where it says:

"Journey will be performing for the Queen of England at an exclusive polo match between the UK and US. The America's Polo Cup event takes place on 12th May 2007 at Historic Morven Park in the US."

So, I don't know if they actually are...the Queen does love horses & I imagine she is going to watch at least some of the match. I assume doing the Star Spangled Banner is at the beginning of the game, too.

I think you can be knighted but you don't get the designation of "Sir"

That's right.
It's called an honorary Knighthood, and the recipient of the honour isn't really supposed to use the title of 'Sir' - but they do.
For example, Sir Bob Geldof, he's Irish so his title was an honorary one, but we all call him Sir Bob despite that. :)

The equivalent of a Knighthood for a woman is called a Damehood.

Like Dame Judi Dench, Dame Elizabeth Taylor etc.

The Queen herself doesn't always officiate at these ceremonies, sometimes it's Prince Charles.

And I'm not sure if the women get the sword tapped on the shoulders and the 'arise Dame whatever' speech - I think they just get the medal thingy pinned to their lapels.

The recipients go to Buckingham Palace and when their time comes, their name is called and they approach the podium in front of the Queen and receive their award.
I'm not sure if they still have to kneel before her these days, however.

I'll let you all know when I receive mine. :lol: :lol:
