Awesome. I could not turn it off.

Usually, I hate that babbling bitch, but today watching her throw down with that twinkie eating bubble headed cun*, I was digging that.

And $5,000 bucks?! That was awesome. That defendant is in a world of shit.

Sure makes you want to be very careful what you buy and from whom. I just ordered a charger for my wife's phone off of eBay, should be in tomorrow. I hope I don't just get a friggin picture of it.

Reminds me of that story where a man opens his mail to find he's been ticketed for running a red light, the letter showed a picture of his license plate, and a bill for $50.00. So the man thinking he was smart sent in a picture of a 50 dollar bill. The police sent back a picture of hand cuffs, the man payed up.

I did watch that episode when it aired on tv.

Hopefully, the legal system is looking more into this scam artist.

I buy and sell on ebay all the time. NEVER have I experienced anything like that. I wish Judge Judy had the power to demand that her husband show in court under oath. She is an airhead w/o ANY intregrity or conscience. As far as collecting on a judgement, they would have to have a good job or assets. I would think since the amt was over $ 400.00 it would be some sort of fraud that would carry felony charges. I loved the part about the IRS. I hope the judge carries out that threat.

I believe Judge Judy pays both paties to appear, so they most likely did collect as they deduct the amount of the judgement from their pay and give it to the winner of the case

It's not so much that amount that makes a felony case, but if you can prove the person intended to fraud you. In this case it's obvious she intended it. I believe that's why Judge Judy asked if the local authorities were notified, because it would definitely count as a felony.

I have been selling on ebay for 5 years now and we have been very lucky. I think we've had 2 checks bounce, and after selling thousands of items, that's not a bad stat. It's too bad people like this ruin our customer base though, and scare people away from buying. I'm glad she was so hard on her!

Judge Judy has always been awesome...babbling, notwithstanding! She provides great entertainment, and the best part about it is that none of what you see on tv is an act with her. I remember seeing a story about her on 60 Minutes many eons ago, when she was a sitting family court judge in NYC (long before her tv gig), and she was exactly the same there as she is on her show! There is something refreshing about a woman who gets as annoyed by morons as I do

As a friend of mine pointed out, this is Judy going on what she thinks is right and although I agree with her, if the defendant had a good lawyer, the case would have been dismissed, because the plaintiffs didn't read everything. I hate scammers and as my friend said, they rely on their victims stupidity to make their scams work. If the blonde bitch appeals this in a real court, she'll probably win... which is sad

Rock On Judge Judy!!

Can I just ask something??

We sometimes get these shows in the UK.... so Im aware of the show, but... is it a "regular" court of law, or just a TV set... with no real legally binding ruling?

Thought the stupid blonde fucker got what she deserved...in front of 10 million people too... haha

My husband's a cop though, and he said it would be pretty easy to prove that she had the INTENT to fraud someone. He said even the fact that the weight was that of a real phone could have worked for a jury. She could still be guilty criminally. It would be interesting to know the outcome. I hope all the ebay scammers out there saw that! I think they really don't think you can be charged criminally. Either that, or they really are stupid. I guess I'll just go with the latter

Not a real court, but the cases are legally binding. The plaintiffs/defendants start off in "real" court - both parties sign off and agree to have Judy settle their dispute - kind of like mediation/arbitration.
