OT: AI - who are u rooting for?

No AI contestant thread? Ok I'm starting one. I have too much time on my hands & I admit it.

Who do u like on AI this year? My pick to win: Melinda Doolittle. Great voice, nice girl, deserves it.

Who deserves to go far in the contest? Girls: Melinda, Jordin, Lakisha Boys: Chris Sligh, Blake, Phil

Who is overrated: Chris Richardson (whats the big deal? He does NOT hit all his notes.) Sundance Head (great 1st audition everything else average, Mustang Sally? Any fool can sing it) Gina (thinks she is God's gift and annoys me & will wear her voice out from straining)

Who should be long gone: Antonella (talentless bimbo off pitch all the time) Sanjaya (nice tone but yawn boring, doesnt bring it at all)

Who should NOT be gone (yet): AJ, Rudy

Which leaves: Haley (wont make it past another week, too broadwayish), Sabrina (good but thinks she's amazing), Stephanie (good but not original), Jared (hot looking but not that good, off pitch at times) & Brandon (inconsistent but better this week than judges said)

Melinda Doolittle blew the judges away on Wed. night. She is probably the frontrunner. I like her, she seems like a good person.

Was busy over at CBS with Survivor, but I believe the 2 girls were the girl who sang Nina Simone (the awkward girl with bangs) and the Dixie Chicks girl, and the 2 guys was the hispanic guy AJ something, and I think the dude who sang "Fever."

I missed those. I really haven't watched that closely this year. I'm just not as into the show as I used to be. I think I've disagreed with every winner since the second season and I'm getting really tired of it being more about popularity with a cult following of incessant people with cell phones than about talent.

LaKisha lives in Flint, MI now, but she just moved there from Baltimore. Her whole family is also from Bmore, so there are stories about her on our news all of the time.

I can't really stand any of the dudes this year.

But I'm right there with ya on Doolittle and LaKisha.
Doolittle will go further, though, because America takes 'looks'
waaay too much into account when voting on this show.

I know. I just see the example it leaves for the kids (I taught public school) and how it makes them behave. I just wish it wasn't the norm to ridicule--some don't get over it or rise above.
