Back in 1976 I was around 8 years old or so. My parents took my brother and I to a party at my aunt and uncles house and we where listening to the first Boston album on 8 track. Some person we didn't know says "Hey listen to that.... That's why we are here, and they are there, but we can still hear it here" It turned out to be my first encounter with someone that was high as a kite.

My wife will jump in here next, as she big Boston fan

I was introduced to Boston as a child because my sister who is 7 years older than me was a huge fan. I can remember listening to "More Than A Feeling" and "Rock and Roll Band". Then Boston took a bit of a hiatus and I'll never forget thinking where is that wonderful band that I grew up with. Then they roared back onto the charts with a little hit called "Amanda". I was in-love with Amanda the first time I heard it. Then they added Fran Cosmo and boy did he and Brad compliment each other with their high notes. Boston was/is my all-time classic rock band and I will miss Brad very much. They were very much a part of my growing up and I hope to pass their music on to my own child.
Kind of ironic but when I was pregnant and found out I was having a girl, I kind of passed the name "Amanda" by my husband. Of course, he said no that he didn't like the name (no offense to anyone who's child is named that). My friend's daughter is named Amanda and she will always be a reminder of a band that I love.
