Ok stop it. Brad was great yeah. But dude check yourself. He was NOT even close to Perry in any category. None. don't call me lifeless because I am responding to your recent claim, which is retarded. Betterthan Perry. oh ok. Jesus Christ. Brad was good, but not close to Stephen.

Yes, I respect his contributions but enough already. Yeah call me a heartless cocksucker, but come on, he isn't Ghandi, Gorbachev, Springsteen, McCartney or Christ. He is Brad Delp. A good singer, but dude NOT Steve fucking Perry.

Let's not let emotion cloud our vision.

Deano - there is MORE to life than Journey. Not every day, but yes, sometimes there actually is. There is no need to go down this path. BOTH singers are all time legends...

I love me some Journey - much more than Boston, but IMO Delp's voice was superior over Perry.

I think his voice had held up a little better than Perry's. Although, part of that could have been the fact that he had Fran Cosmo with him in Boston sharing the lead vocal duties.

I think "retired" might be a much better word. If you could retire, with a ton of money, wouldn't you? I think he is merely enjoying other aspects of the music business.

Opinions will always differ but I just played More than a Feeling on my ipod just to remind me how exquisitely composed, recorded and produced that debut album was, (particularly the opening track) and Brad's vocal is truly gorgeous, particularly where he rises up to that soaring high note before the guitar solo, what a range. I have to disagree with Deano on this one - Brad's lead and awesomely lush backing vocals are peerless in Boston's genre, nobody sounded as good as that, certainly not in 1976 - I just wouldn't put Perry against Delp, same as I wouldn't put Scholz against Schon because you can't, its not an either/or situation. Scholz was an audio genius with true foresight - that original 12-track recording in his basement stands up today as does Sholz's contribution to rock guitar audio with the Rockman, he changed the world really, - Line 6's Pod wouldn't exist without it. Schon is legendary for different reasons, all outstanding and just as great. But he ain't 'better' or 'worse'. And Delp was master in his time as was Perry. I love Journey and I love those Boston recordings from 30 years ago. Simple as that.

By the way, went to the 2nd night at Manchester- sound was awesome this time!

If she chooses not to reveal a source does not make it untrue either. In that respect who is your source that it isnt true and what factual data do you have to this persons non-existence? 8)

You two are fucking weird. Be careful here how you both tread. Remember, I have a loaded cannon or 50 or 60 to shoot back.

His "craft" would HAVE to involve touring, which he has stated he is NOT willing to do. And with Assoff managing, the touring would be quite extensive. Deano, if Amtrak had made you a multi-millionare, set for life, would you still go to work? I doubt it, especially if you found it to be difficult, and in your mind probably not able to perform as good as you once did. I WANT him to tour, but I KNOW that's me, wanting it for me. Ultimately though, it's what HE wants that counts.

Deano, I support you 99% of the time, but this is unecessary, personal, and way out of line. Everything is suject to personal opinion; most of those of us who have read Laura's book believe it to be a very well thought out, informative book on one of the all-time best performers in any genre. There is no need to disparage her publicly. IMHO, that is something that can be done via PM. The book is fantastic and is a must-have for any Perry fan...at least that's how I feel. Save your attacks for morons like Slander and those Fraudgieri-heads.

I am associated with the book, yes, and VERY proud of that.I don't want a prize for it and I definitely don't need you to come and ram it down my throat everytime I post on this board.
This convo had absolutely nothing to do with my book, yet you don't waste any chance to bitch and moan about it.I told you before, write your own damn book and make yourself HAPPY.

I am not up to anything,I haven't even talked to SF.
And please,I personally don't want to know anything from you and your sources. If you are trying to imply that I want to "find out" things from you by provoking you,you are delusional.
I know enough to be happy, don't need you to "enlighten" me,ok?

Dude, are you serious?

The best selling book in the genre of all time?

A well thought out book?

No on BOTH accounts.

Look, I applaud her for writing a book on Perry. However, if you are going to put a product on the public market, and then take in monies for it, it IS subject to criticism.

That thing was NOT well thought out. The information was simply compiled interviews and fan reviews. Hell, I can write the same thing, only better, and have it to you by next week....oh yeah, I will check the spelling before it leaves my desk.

I am busting on BOTH of them, (notice how steveforever bailed), because they are both full of shit on this. If I were to post "A friend of mine gave me a Perry report yesterday" and someone questioned me, I would tell them where I heard it and from whom, and what was said. Don't want to cite sources? So be it. However, you can surely report what was said..IF YOU KNEW. That was my point. She doesn't know.

So go on and hate me, I don't give a shit. I have brawled with everyone here at one time or another. Doesn't bother me to call someone a bullshitter. It is what it is.

Back to the subject at hand. Got this off of another forum....

Although not confirmed, friends close to the band Beatlejuice are reporting that Delp was dealing with some issues of Depression. But the sad fact remains that this was most definitely a suicide.
